Summary: In a bid to take over Heaven, Sho has unleashed an apocalyptic number of taboo ayakashi the biggest Heaven-wrecking godmode weapon this side of the Far Shore. It doesn't end well. Get ready for spring cleaning 2.0.

Susano'o, Selfies, and the Subjugation of Heaven

As he'd revealed in his 3 AM BBS post, Sho has a variety of fascinating ayakashi that he wants to share with the world. By noon, several large heaps located in various parts of Heaven have caught on fire and there is a massive outpouring of taboo ayakashi.

Concentrated primarily near the Meeting Hall and Susano'o's junk heap of a temple, these ayakashi attack shinki and gods on sight. They're vicious, powerful, and the only way to defeat them is the power of teamwork.

At 2 PM, Joshua will be providing some helpful tips. Meanwhile, Sho will be teleport-spamming throughout Heaven. Feel free to text him, but he'll stop answering right around the time Bishamon and Hajime start to catch up to him. (Picowatt will be helping out from there on!)

Boss Fight: Seiten Taisei and the Neoclassical Drakes

It's the zero hour, exactly 43,200 seconds since he posted his warning to the BBS when Sho decides to change the game. Heaven has rallied against him, gods and shinki alike, and it's time to pull out the big guns.

In the air above the Meeting Hall, he unleashes thirteen Neoclassical Drakes before releasing Seiten Taisei.

And, suddenly, it's entrails everywhere.

Post-Battle Spring Cleaning

Well, the day is saved, but there's a metric ton left to do. The mass slaughter left a bit of a bloody mess, and Susano'o has shrines on the Near Shore covered in graffiti that can turn any stray ayakashi into the taboo sort. Weird and corrupt magics all over the place, some of which are on fire. His junkyard temple is burning merrily, and there are still some stray taboo ayakashi to put down.

Anyone ready for Spring Cleaning 2.0? Grab a mop.

[ The staff connects, and there's a brief, bright moment where Gojyo almost smiles. He's got Goku's attention! He's...

...shit, he's got Goku's attention. Goku turns on him and Gojyo raises his staff defensively -- if he can get the monkey to bite the staff instead of him, then he'll have a second to strike back, right?

But Goku doesn't bite him. Instead, Hakkai -- an unlimitered, youkai Hakkai, when...? -- tackles the monkey off his course. Gojyo's mouth gapes, then spreads into a brilliant grin. Guess he doesn't need to tell Hakkai about his limiters after all! ]

Your vines! Wrap him up!

[ He's got both hands on his staff again, but he can't risk blasting Goku again, not with Hakkai in the way. He'll have to wait until they separate again. ]

[--and there's that power he should have been paying attention to. Just as Seiten Taisei is about to slash down with claws, something impacts with him - hard - and sends him sprawling to the floor.

This, of course, is incredibly infuriating. The dig of claws in his skin makes him snarl and writhe, but Hakkai doesn't seem to be budging as much as he'd like. He opens his eyes, pupils thin, tight slits, and bares his teeth at the youkai.

And then proceeds to jerk his upper torso up far enough to attempt to headbutt him in the face.]

[ Hanging back, Sanzo has to trust the other idiots aren't about to get themselves killed. He murmurs under his breath, a quiet mantra as he pulls together his concentration.

He breathes in, out, and reaches for a connection with the sutra he carried on his shoulders. ]

[Sanzo's chanting a mantra under his breath. Preparing to use some sort of power, perhaps? Hakkai feels skin tear under his claws as he clenches one hand hard on Goku's arm and whips the other up between them to block the headbutt. Goku's head hits his forearm with a dull, wet crack -- Hakkai's bone, not Goku's, but not his skull, either, even if the force of Goku's blow slams his own freshly broken arm back against his face. He sucks in a harsh breath, and calls to Gojyo.]

Vines?

[How -- he's not in his vessel form!]

[ Shit. ]

Vines!

[ He can feel a power building from Sanzo -- the priest's figured something out, something that sure is starting to feel more like a makai tenjou than the return of the kid's limiter. That's great. That's fucking great, Sanzo, do that!

Meanwhile Gojyo drops to his knees next to Hakkai and Goku -- that crunch he just heard couldn't have been good, and he's willing to bet it was something of Hakkai's going crunch -- grabbing for Goku's... anything, really. Those claws will shred him like paper, but Sanzo's got this. So if he can get the kid in a headlock for a few seconds? Maybe? Cut him some slack, he's making this shit up as he goes along. ...Just like Hakkai seems to be. Removing his limiters was nothing but a good instinct, it seems. ]

It's fine, just hold him, Sanzo! Do it!

[Seiten Taisei can feel that power, too. It feels... almost familiar, somehow, but in a way he distinctly doesn't like. That needs to be stopped, before whatever it is happens.

But Hakkai is there holding him down, and Gojyo is joining in now, and attacking under restraint hadn't worked as well as planned. He struggles once more, twisting and roaring even if Hakkai's claws tear his skin open, and then he's gone, moving so fast and with such energy that it shoves the two off of him enough for him to escape.

The monk needs to die, before he completes what he's doing. That's why, when he reappears, it's right in front of Sanzo with his claws already slashing down and in.]

[ There! He could do this, the sutra stretching with his intent as he called out its power. Not a second too soon, either, as Goku savagely flings the others off of him.

Sanzo doesn't flinch, snapping out: ] Makai-!

[ The rest never comes, the force of the blow cutting him short. Claws tear fabric and flesh with equal ease, and his vision whites out briefly as he slams into the wall behind him. ] Goku... [ His knees are giving out, disobeying his overriding need to keep going.

The Maten sutra drops back on his shoulders. ]

[Hakkai tumbles across the floor, a short cry tearing its way from his throat as his broken arm jolts against the ground. The stench of blood is so thick on the air of the meeting hall that it's only the spray of red scattering from Goku's claws that lets him know Sanzo's been wounded.

He forces himself to his feet, lifting his good hand by reflex. Power gathers in his hand, sparking and growing into a ball of light, and he snarls, sharp teeth flashing as he flings the energy at Goku's head. Sanzo can't take that kind of damage. They have to distract Goku from him, now.]

[ Sanzo's down. ]

Sanzo!

[ His feet slip as he hauls himself up, running for Goku with all the speed he can muster. But already he knows it won't be fast enough. Hakkai's chi might get there in time (if it's not already too late shrieks a panicked voice in the back of his mind), but without shakujyo, with nothing but his worthless pine cone stick, Gojyo's basically useless. All he can do is try to get Goku's attention, any way he can. ]

Oi, Seiten Taisei! [ Does Goku in this form know his own name? Does he even understand words? ] Get off him, you stupid monkey!

[As Sanzo goes down, Seiten Taisei lets his claws slip from his prey, baring his teeth at the monk in a cold grin. Just where he wants him to be. One more good blow, and this one is gone. Like cutting through wet paper.

But another one is yelling behind him, and he turns to look over his shoulder. Just in time, really, because Hakkai's energy ball is speeding towards him. The grin fades, and he snorts, turning around in one swift motion and lifting a hand, catching the energy as if it were a normal, physical ball.

The momentum brings his arm back, but it only takes a second for him to exert his own force on it, pushing it forward and throwing it right back. But instead of throwing it at Hakkai, Seiten Taisei is aiming for Gojyo.]

[ No. He can feel the warmth wicking along the fabric of his robe as he slides down the wall, and he has no idea how bewildered he looks by this sudden turn of events as meets Seiten Taisei's eyes. There's little else beyond smug cruelty in the damn monkey's expression, but he can't let it end there. He tries to press tight against the wound to stem the bleeding, but his strength is failing him.

Goku was right there.

He could reach out, but it all starts to dissolve into a blur and his hand drops to his side. ] Go... [ He chokes on the name, coming up short as he crumples in a heap. ]

[He caught it. He caught it!? Hakkai's eyes widen in shock. Sanzo is down, scarlet blooming across his robes, and Goku is flinging the energy ball back, not at him, but at Gojyo. The broken arm is going to slow him down: he can't grip with it, can't tackle Gojyo out of the way, can't even attack two-handed.

Use your vines, Gojyo had said. Hakkai's gaze flicks down to his limp hand, to the dark green vine mark that curls like a tattoo across his skin, and he presses his palm against the ground. Pain shoots up through the arm, and he grits his teeth against it, sharp canines scoring bloody lines through his lip.

It is just like what he can do in his vessel form, after all. The vine markings race across the floorboards towards Goku's feet, ready to spiral up and bind him there -- but it's within reach of Sanzo, and Sanzo's not going to be able to move -- he raises his other hand, summoning another ball of energy, and calls out.]

Goku! Over here!

[ Just like last time, Goku snags Hakkai's energy ball out of the air, easy as catching a baseball. Guess there's somebody here who didn't forget everything, huh monkey? There's no way he's going to be able to dodge this time -- the glow comes right at him, and Gojyo winces, flinging one arm up to try and at least save his face.

And then the glow is gone, and he's fifty feet up in the air.

...Oh. Right. God powers!

Sanzo's just a blur of white and spreading red from this distance, and it's Gojyo's first instinct to get him to safety. But Hakkai's fighting the monkey with a broken arm and no memory of how to use his own innate powers. Hold on, Sanzo, Gojyo thinks at the monk, pointing himself at Goku and letting himself fall. If he can get his hands on Goku, then he can teleport them together anywhere. Straight up will be a good start -- a good fall might slow the monkey down some. Asshole, don't you dare die yet. ]

[The ball of energy continues through the air unblocked, sailing right into a far wall with a rather large explosion and a following cloud of dust and debris. But Gojyo wasn't in the path. Confused, Seiten Taisei's lips curl into a snarl and he looks up, tracking Gojyo to where he's floating high above them in the air.

This, of course, leaves him wide open for those vines to take hold of his legs. As soon as he can feel them snaking their way across his skin, Seiten Taisei looks down, eyes widening and entire body tensing. They're strong, and even he's finding difficulty breaking them.

Being called out to, he turns, snarling at Hakkai this time. That ball of energy he's building up doesn't intimidate him in the slightest. He can just catch it and redirect it again if he has to. In fact, it almost looks like he's waiting for it.

Except his ears pick up the sound of air being displaced, and he looks up, spotting Gojyo quickly descending towards him. Whatever he's planning, it's stupid. He's left himself far too open for attack. Seiten Taisei is gone again, vines not so much falling away as they are tearing from their root on the floor, and he's appearing right next to Gojyo in the air, bringing down both fists in an attempt to slam him to the floor.]

[The vines tear free from the floor under Goku's new, terrible strength, falling uselessly away from his legs as he leaps for Gojyo. Hakkai flinches as they give way. It is the same as his vessel form's ability, after all.

He lets the ball of energy dissipate; it was only a distraction, and with Goku and Gojyo so close together at such a distance, and falling, he can't use it without risking hitting Gojyo. Instead, he comes to his feet, racing for Sanzo. The other shinki is still bleeding -- so he's still alive -- but Hakkai needs a better look at his injuries to guess how long that's going to last.]

[ The wind is blinding as he falls, hair whipping against his back like wires. It's terrifying (and thrilling, in a gut-knotting sort of way) -- his hands are ready, elbows tucked against his ribs, braced for the momentary impact. As soon as he touches Goku, he'll be up. Up, in the sky somewhere, higher than the clouds, away from anyone that Goku could hurt like this. Ten heartbeats, and he'll be there. There isn't even time to think.

(Later, looking back on this stupid-ass plan, he'll realize that Sanzo going into shock from his injuries had blunted his own brain, making him think that skydiving at the Seiten Taisei was anything approaching a good idea. Later, he'll feel really stupid about this decision, when he could have just teleported there.)

Nine heartbeats to go, and Goku vanishes. It takes Gojyo a moment to realize it, peering down through wind-tears, but before it can really register, something hits him in the side, hard enough to break his ribs. The breath is driven out of him, and the last thing he sees out of the corner of his eye is the Seiten Taisei hovering beside him.

Goku, I'm so--

And then he hits the ground, and everything goes black.]

[A moment after Gojyo hits the ground, Seiten Taisei follows suit, landing in a kneeling position and creating a slight indent in the floor. Gojyo isn't moving, though, and while he can hear his heartbeat, it's slow and sluggish. Just out, not dead. But that can be remedied shortly.

He still has the other one to deal with, though. Standing straight, he turns his eyes to Hakkai, who seems to be in the process of helping the monk. Vulnerable. That's his next target, then.

Seiten Taisei begins to take on a more attacking stance, but something from the other end of the room catches his attention. Voices echoing in a hallway, and three people emerging into the room. His attention turns, then, to the ones that have just arrived, and clearly are not injured. He wants to fight Hakkai, but... no matter. These will be taken care of quickly, and he can return to his fight.

In a blink, he's gone, moving across the room to deal with the newcomers.]

[She's been driving herself crazy trying to find Sanzo. He'd mentioned a kappa and she can piece enough together to figure that it'd mean Gojyo. So she'd been popping around to his temple and then Elsa's, running around trying to find someone, anyone, and coming up empty handed. Her heart aches, a tugging feeling at her soul and a thread of panic in her mind she can't fully connect to Sanzo's deteriorating condition just yet, but it spurs her on in a near-frenzy as she strikes down ayakashi and keep going. There's no time to play right now.

In her panic it had taken her longer than she'd like to admit to thinking to go to the meeting hall. The pressurized feeling of power hits her the second her foot touches the ground and instinctively she recoils from it.]

What--

[This was a lot to take in. The boy, Goku (Goku, but not her Goku, but the power is the same and familiar enough that it almost knocks the wind right out of her and in her mind it is her Goku, going on a rampage, but the transformation is different, but-- but--)

She feels dizzy.]

Hakkai? [She gasps the name as she tears her eyes away to look at him, her face pale, clutching her staff. He looked different too.] What's-- Goku is...?

[Her eyes zero in on Sanzo and then to Gojyo. There's blood, god there's so much blood and even her time on the battlefield can't fully prepare her for every time. She was suddenly grateful the ayakashi couldn't bleed because she sure as hell hadn't missed this part.

This wasn't the time for her to lose her head though. Goku was distracted, but who knew for how long? Her mind whirls and she stands a bit straighter, forcing herself to focus]

I can heal. What do you need me to do first?

[killsthebuddha]

[ It'd all faded out until the sense of someone at his side filters through. Crumpled against a wall with an arm held loosely over the gut wound left by sharp claws, it's a struggle for him to force his sluggish body to act on his instinctive sense of self-preservation but he can't just lie there.

If it was Goku, maybe there was nothing he could do, but he couldn't just give up.

He blindly lashes out with a clumsy punch, only to over-balance himself and sprawl with a choked gasp on the floor. His head swimming and unable to catch his breath, Sanzo pants weakly as he tries to push himself up. ]

[The sound of Gojyo hitting the floor -- a heavy thud, terribly final (why didn't he teleport out of the way) -- comes as Hakkai's going to his knees by Sanzo's side, and he's frozen when Sanzo's clumsy punch thuds harmlessly against his shoulder. It's the broken arm, and it hurts, rocking him back onto his heels and from there back to his feet in a single movement as his head whips around to take in the room.

Sanzang's there. Sanzang heals? Hakkai flicks his good hand down at Sanzo, who's trying a pushup with deep gut wounds.]

Take him.

[It'll take two hands to hold Sanzo down and make sure his insides stay in. Hakkai heads for Gojyo instead, hands already starting to glow as he goes down to his knees again. Gojyo's breathing. It's a wet, gasping breath but it's a breath, and Hakkai puts his good hand over Gojyo's chest, focusing as he pours energy into the injuries there. Broken ribs, he thinks. More than one. Maybe splintered. A head injury, too; his face is already reddened and swelling from impact. Goku could reappear at any moment and slaughter them all, but Gojyo could die under his hands right now, and Hakkai has no attention left to spare for the greater threat.]

[sanzohoshi]

On it.

[She wastes no time in going to Sanzo's side, setting her staff aside. Kikka will just have to wait.

There's a moment of hesitation, only briefly, before she reaches up and undoes the clasps on her sleeves. Desperate times call for desperate measures, after all, but there's nothing wrong with her hands that would require covering them up. But the silk sleeves are set aside with Kikka, and she reaches out to grab Sanzo.]

Hey, hey, you didn't even say goodbye! Your manners are terrible. [She laughs and forces a smile, her voice light and cheery as ever despite the strain of the whole situation. Her hands grip his shoulder, carefully, but firmly, forcing him over on his back.] I have a lot to scold you for, so you're not allowed to do something stupid like die right now, okay?

[Her clothes are going to have to be burned after this, she thinks regretfully, with all the blood staining them and she presses her hands against his wounds. There's a green glow before slowly the wounds will start stitching themselves up and with that the pain begins to go away too.

And right onto Sanzang. She feels a little like she's dying, and there's a newfound respect for the fact Sanzo had forced himself to try and move despite all that. But she holds firm, sparing a glance towards Hakkai and Gojyo.]

Hakkai. How's Gojyo? [Besides "bad"]

[Between watching the fight and feeling both her feelings and her shinki's, Elsa has had a difficult time of this (to say the list). Now and then she'd think of calling for Hakkai and Sanzo's vessel forms, but she'd promised to stay out of it -- and more importantly, they'd be defenseless before Goku. (And Goku... Her murmuring of Monki had yielded no results. Whatever Susano'o did to him, it's powerful.

When Goku leaves, Elsa is still too frightened to move, too aware that she will only make it worse for them if she draws Goku's attention to herself. Even when Sanzang dashes into the scene, Elsa does little more than step out from where she was hiding all this time.

It's omly when Hakkai says take him that Elsa snaps out of her shock (it's so much all at once, and even without having that kind of connection with Gojyo, she feels for him too). The decision now is, who should she go to? Her hesitation gives Sanzang the time to start healing Sanzo. Hakkai's concern is a steady current at the edge of Elsa's consciousness. If she breaks that, will Gojyo die? Can Sanzang help Gojyo too? And Hakkai, he's injured as well.

Sanzang asks how Gojyo is, and Elsa decides without stopping to think, goes to Sanzo's side to make sure he's doing okay.]

Sanzo? Sanzo-- [She doesn't even know what to say.

There are tears in her eyes when she looks at Sanzang.] Is he okay? [Will she have to feel Sanzo die?]

[How is he. Bad, to start with. His breathing is easing, though; Hakkai can't force the bone to knit, but he can seal broken blood vessels and encourage torn flesh to heal. He pushes back a wave of dizziness, grits his teeth, and shifts his hand to Gojyo's temple.]

Alive.

[It's as much as he's willing to grant. Alive and possibly going to survive, although Hakkai's not tempting fate by going that far with the prognosis out loud. Head wounds. In the best case, if gods heal better than mortals, he'll be laid up for days.

And Sanzo? Hakkai spares a moment of distraction to look up at Elsa and Sanzang.]

We can't stay here.

[Goku can return at any moment. As soon as Sanzo and Gojyo can survive being moved, being moved will dramatically improve their chances of survival.]

[ His struggle against Sanzang is brief, some combination of physical weakness and her words sinking in or maybe just the tone of them. He has to grit his teeth against a moan when her small hands press against his wound, and he blindly grabs at one of her wrists even as the pain seems to start to melt away.

His robe is stained with bright, garish red, heavy and sodden, but the spread of his blood slows. His eyes flutter open, but he's not tracking and the women kneeling over him are blurry figures. ]

Not going without... [ It's hard to find the words, and they come out muddled and breathy. His grip on Sanzang's wrist tightens. ] ...th'damn brat.

[sanzohoshi]

[Elsa's approach makes Sanzang tense a little and she whips her head about quickly to assess the threat level--nonexistent, she remembers this woman briefly from when she said hello on Sanzang's post. Sanzang smiles brightly, like she isn't wrist-deep in the blood of Elsa's shinki or her own other half]

Yep, yep! Don't worry! Everything's going to be A-Okay! I would never die so easily, so there's no way Sanzo here will either! [That she can say with confidence.

For some reason, Hakkai's assessment that Gojyo is "alive" makes Sanzang laugh brightly, like somehow none of this nightmare is going on.]

That's good news, at lea- Hey-- [She cuts herself off when Sanzo grabs her wrist and she winces slightly. That's probably going to leave a bruise, but she doesn't pull away. The pain over her stomach grows worse and she hunches over a little, but her hands remain steady. Honestly, Sanzo's hand on her wrist helps ground her, and she focuses half her attention on that warmth to keep her steady.

She can't worry them. She can't. If she's smiling and laughing it means everything's going to be okay, no one has to worry, but god it feels like she's being torn apart from the inside out. Sanzang's smile is pained] Hey, of course! We can't leave Goku on his own! [He doesn't like being alone, first of all, and Sanzang's heart aches again. She'd failed her own Goku too many times, she can't possibly let it happen here.]

When you and Hakkai and Gojyo are all healed up, I'll take my turn, okay? I'm sure we can all figure out something. [She who took down Asura... Surely she could at least go toe-to-toe with Goku?

...Well, maybe at her peak. Surely not now, when she's already exhausted and weakened and taking this much pain on.

But she can't think of that. She can't allow herself to lose no matter what.

But Hakkai's right in that they can't stay here. She could always come back, right? Right. But Hakkai, Gojyo, and Sanzo are more important right now. Shinki she knew by now couldn't teleport on their own, so she looks to Elsa.]

Lady Elsa? When these wounds close up, I'm going to heal Hakkai some [at least take the pain away, no Hakkai she won't take 'no' for an answer here] and then can you take him and Gojyo to your temple? I'm going to take Sanzo with me. [That's said firmly, a decision she's not going to budge on.] I have to be able to keep an eye on him while I heal him. Okay?
