Summary: In a bid to take over Heaven, Sho has unleashed an apocalyptic number of taboo ayakashi the biggest Heaven-wrecking godmode weapon this side of the Far Shore. It doesn't end well. Get ready for spring cleaning 2.0.

Susano'o, Selfies, and the Subjugation of Heaven

As he'd revealed in his 3 AM BBS post, Sho has a variety of fascinating ayakashi that he wants to share with the world. By noon, several large heaps located in various parts of Heaven have caught on fire and there is a massive outpouring of taboo ayakashi.

Concentrated primarily near the Meeting Hall and Susano'o's junk heap of a temple, these ayakashi attack shinki and gods on sight. They're vicious, powerful, and the only way to defeat them is the power of teamwork.

At 2 PM, Joshua will be providing some helpful tips. Meanwhile, Sho will be teleport-spamming throughout Heaven. Feel free to text him, but he'll stop answering right around the time Bishamon and Hajime start to catch up to him. (Picowatt will be helping out from there on!)

Boss Fight: Seiten Taisei and the Neoclassical Drakes

It's the zero hour, exactly 43,200 seconds since he posted his warning to the BBS when Sho decides to change the game. Heaven has rallied against him, gods and shinki alike, and it's time to pull out the big guns.

In the air above the Meeting Hall, he unleashes thirteen Neoclassical Drakes before releasing Seiten Taisei.

And, suddenly, it's entrails everywhere.

Post-Battle Spring Cleaning

Well, the day is saved, but there's a metric ton left to do. The mass slaughter left a bit of a bloody mess, and Susano'o has shrines on the Near Shore covered in graffiti that can turn any stray ayakashi into the taboo sort. Weird and corrupt magics all over the place, some of which are on fire. His junkyard temple is burning merrily, and there are still some stray taboo ayakashi to put down.

Anyone ready for Spring Cleaning 2.0? Grab a mop.

[Rushing in certainly doesn't leave them going unnoticed.

Seiten Taisei had been distracted well enough with Sanzo, Hakkai and Gojyo. But the faster their numbers fall, the more prone he is to distraction. Hakkai is the only one standing, and he's interesting, and much more of a match than the other two had been.

But the movement in another hallway catches his eye, and he turns, looking. Ah. More, and they're running. Towards him, of course, and not away, but he's intrigued regardless. And so, he leaps, quick enough that it looks invisible. But rather than attack, he lands right in front of the new group, standing and tilting his head just a slight bit as he looks them over.

There's an eerie recognition. They look like the ones he'd just fought. Hm. His fingers flex for a moment, and he takes a step forward, making note of the scents. They're different enough.

With that squared away, his lips curl up into a grin, and Seiten Taisei launches for Kenren. The one that had looked like this one was the most annoying one, so he should get rid of him first.]

[ Kenren barely has an opportunity to register his surroundings. Out of the corner of his eye he can see (as he expected) Gojyo's group down and not in the best condition... but at least they don't seem to be alone.

That's about as much as he can parse before Seiten Taisei lunges at him. On the one hand, it suits him just fine, he was thinking of playing decoy right off the bat so that Tenpou and Konzen could help the others.

On the other hand, this is not the Seiten Taisei they fought before and he should have known. Goku is taller now, most certainly stronger... so the same should apply to his "other self".

Ah, well. It's too late to regret his oversight.

He aims and shoots to the side of his head, not to harm him, but to try and distract him—to make sure all of Seiten Taisei's attention is on him. Then, as soon as the bullet has been fired, he starts running towards an empty corner of the room. It's far from the smartest strategy, but his priority is still to let the others evacuate the room as soon as possible. ]

Tenpou! Konzen! Make sure they can get out safely!

[ It probably doesn't need saying, but it's better if they can all be on the same page. ]

[ But of course they are on the same page. Tenpou sees what he's doing, and it's a terrible idea but what's done is done. He decides to cover for Konzen and the others, falling into a defensive stance with his sword, at a safe enough distance. Maybe Konzen can help them get away if they can't manage to do that on their own at this point. ]

Just teleport out of here!!

[ Of course. Of course it happens like this. As if seeing Goku looking like he's looking now is not bad enough. This is his nightmare all over again, right down to the heroics that got everyone killed the first go.

Tenpou is no better, insisting that Konzen teleport out of here. Konzen has turned Goku back to himself before. Doesn't he think he can do it again? Fuck you, Tenpou! Fuck you very much. ]

I'm not going anywhere!

[ He grumbles, though he does follow after Tenpou to give Kenren room to do whatever stupid thing he's about to do, and to presumably give those other idiots time to get out. ]

[The bullet whizzes by his head, just barely grazing his hair, but it does the job. Seiten Taisei is now fully focused on Kenren, and his lunge is falling short. Because Kenren is... running?

That just pushes Seiten Taisei's urge to chase even more, and he lets out a quiet noise that sounds almost like a laugh. Kenren may have a head start, but it amounts to nothing when Seiten Taisei all but teleports in front of him, trying to cut him off. ... and in half, if his claws have anything to say about it.]

[ Just as planned and yet... totally not as planned. Kenren's reflexes are pretty decent so the claws don't outright stab him, however they do cut both through his clothes and skin. This is starting to get messy...

He lets out a breathless chuckle himself, more amused at his own lack of preparedness for this whole scenario than anything else. Clumsily, he takes a couple of steps back and shoots at Seiten Taisei's right leg. More than being in pain because of his fresh wounds, he's pained by having to hurt Goku like this, just so they can stand a chance against him. ]

[ When he yelled, it was actually meant for Hakkai and the others, not for Konzen. Tenpou has no idea whether Sanzang is a god or a shinki, and depending on that, they may not have an easy way out of here. But Konzen said he's not teleporting out of here, while Kenren is already doing badly over there...

Well, Konzen and the others will have to look after themselves if this fails, but he's not going to just sit and watch while Kenren sacrifices himself potentially for no reason.

Tenpou concentrates on Seiten Taisei for a second, teleports right behind him, and advances with a quick sword thrust. If he gets his way, his sword should pierce Seiten Taisei's arm, roughly after Kenren tries shooting at his leg in terms of timing, coming from the left side. ]

Tenpou!

​[ And there he goes.

Konzen winces when he sees Kenren shooting at Goku. It has to be done to subdue him, but it still feels bad. And while it comes to no surprise at all that Tenpou jumps right into the fray, he has to admit that without his help, Kenren will probably be dead very quickly.

Shit.

Well those idiots behind them will have to fend for themselves. It doesn't seem like Goku's going after them for now anyway.

Konzen gives them a quick glance before he inches forward through the debris, trying to get as near as possible without attracting attention. He might not be able to fight, but there is one thing he can do. If only he can get closer. And not die in the process. ]

[One is shooting at him. The monk had done that, and it hadn't ended well for him. This one wasn't here to see that, though, so he apparently hasn't learned. But, just as he's preparing to move to dodge the shot, one of the others is appearing right behind him. Closed in, hm?

Not for long. In a blink, Seiten Taisei is gone, reappearing behind Kenren and lifting a foot to shove at his back. Making them attack each other can be just as fun, maybe. If not, well. He still has claws.]

[ Kenren stumbles forward with that push, barely managing to twist his body just enough that he doesn't end up impaled by Tenpou's sword. What he can't avoid, however, is crashing against Tenpou with his full body and all the force from Seiten Taisei's kick.

Sorry. ]

[ At least they're still alive. He can't dodge that, and the force of that kick throws them both several meters back. But at least he manages to let go of his sword and push Kenren forward before falling on the floor so that at least Kenren can stay on his feet.

It doesn't work, but maybe it will help him not fall too hard.

Tenpou didn't break anything apparently, by the way. ]

[ The whole debacle would look almost comical if it weren't fucking terrifying. Konzen has a heart attack when Seiten Taisei kicks Kenren into Tenpou. Wouldn't it be the dumbest shit if they end up killing each other by accident? (Or not really accident, but by Seiten Taisei's design?) Neither of them are hurt yet in any 'body parts detaching' sort of way, but how long will that luck last?

Konzen creeps closer, waiting for the moment where Goku will be distracted, even for a split second... ]

[It didn't work. There's some measure of disappointment there, but not much. Seiten Taisei has other options, after all, and at least one of them is on the floor and vulnerable.

His lips pull back to expose teeth in a grin, and he's on the move once again. But this time, he's going for Tenpou. He's much more exposed, and it'll be like spearing fish in a barrel.

Claws drawn up and back, he leaps and aims for the throat, laughing and almost daring Kenren to do something behind his back.]

[ He doesn't need any dares from Seiten Taisei, as soon as he realizes what he's planning he reaches for his gun and fires repeatedly at Seiten Taisei's legs. Unfortunately, the blood loss and the magnitude of the impact before have already started to dull down his coordination and none of the bullets hit.

God damn it. ]

—Tenpou!!

[ In a fit of desperation, he slams the ground with his free hand and... suddenly, the floor between Seiten Taisei and Tenpou rumbles and rises, as if creating a wall between them. Did he do that?

Whatever the case, the improvised barrier is tall enough to at least buy Tenpou a few more seconds. ]

[ Seiten Taisei's reaction time is way too fast for him to be able to protect himself in any way, and when he looks up he's almost there-- and then he isn't.

Managing to react past his initial surprise, he rolls to the side, gets in a crouching position and quickly grabs his sword.

. . . He would have liked to lunge forward, but his foot hurts too much. It's probably a sprain. It could be worse, but he won't be able to pull that off like this. So he holds his sword in front of himself instead, stubbornly staying in that position like nothing's wrong here and he has a plan, or something. ]

[Oh. That's new. The surprise is actually fairly clear on Seiten Taisei's face, and he looks at the spontaneous wall for a moment. It's interesting, but not interesting enough to keep his attention for long.

Oh well. Attacking the one with the sword can come later. The one with the gun clearly wants to play, and he turns around to face Kenren, not wasting any time in leaping and slashing at whatever he can reach first.

Out of the corner of his eye, there's a flicker of gold, and this distracts him for a second. ... ah. The other one. The one that looks vaguely like the monk. Next target. Easy target.]

[ OR I GUESS I COULD BUY TENPOU MORE THAN A FEW SECONDS????

He was half in the process of standing up, but Seiten Taisei's attack means he falls on his back again. He holds up his forearm to try and "block" the slashing, which of course, only results in it getting shredded. Kenren cries out in pain as he attempts to kick Seiten Taisei in the stomach, hoping he'll back off. ]

[ Okay, if Seiten Taisei is focused on Kenren now, this is a good time for him to stand up and not make it obvious that he's favoring one of his legs. It's not as if he has a choice anyway, considering how things are going for Kenren... But Tenpou is also not going to make the same mistake twice. So he tries not to wince as he prepares himself, and starts an upwards diagonal slash, teleporting to Seiten Taisei's side with the movement already started.

He ends up having teleported a bit farther away than he would have liked, but still within range. He's aiming at his upper arms and face.

...He's not fooling himself, though. At this point, he's just trying to make himself a bigger nuisance than Kenren. ]

[Only Kenren's arm is getting sliced to bits, which isn't as much as Seiten Taisei would prefer. He wants to see much more blood, more desperate attempts at defending. It spurs him on further, laughing three quick beats in succession, and he moves to follow his first slash with another, lower and aimed more at the gut. Maybe he can slice him right open.

But Tenpou is teleporting in just at his side, and Kenren is kicking at his midsection. Caught in motion as he is, he instead shifts his weight away. He mostly avoids the slash, but the tip of the blade does cut a thin line in his sleeve and along his cheek. The kick nudges his side, sending his slash off-balance.

Without missing a beat, Seiten Taisei instead shifts to turn his attack towards Tenpou, clearly marking him the current higher priority. The upward swing has left Tenpou's middle wide open, and a quick enough slash with claws can gut this one instead.]

[ Yes, that's... exactly the reason why he didn't want to have to go with that move. He was expecting something like this if he was lucky enough to catch his attention, and there would have been no way for him to have reacted to his speed, not even with the best of luck.

So he does try to shift to the side, ignoring the sharp pain coming from his foot from a fast movement like this, and it helps him stay alive for a bit longer but it's definitely not enough. Enjoy clawing at his ribs and possibly fracturing them and anything else that applies, Seiten Taisei. His side is yours.

He cries out and tries to bring the hilt of his sword down on Seiten Taisei's shoulder/neck as hard as he can while that happens. ]

[ If the blood loss was bad before, the new slashes on his arm certainly aren't helping Kenren's state: his vision is hazy, his pulse is shaky, and he's bleeding all over the floor.

Even so, he tries to shoot at Seiten Taisei's lower half once more. Everything seems like a lost cause at this point, but like hell he's going to sit back and watch as he tries to skewer Tenpou. ]

[Blood and flesh around his fingers is exactly what Seiten Taisei was going for. It means success, and for a second he twists them, digging in under an exposed rib and pulling, like he's playing with a toy.

Something stinging grazes his leg, and he snaps his head around to glare at Kenren, already in motion to attack this annoying cockroach instead. He should have dealt with him first. It's about that time, though, that Tenpou's hilt slams down on the back of his shoulder, leaving him ducking down with a 'grk' sound. But as much as it hurts, it only serves to infuriate him.

Seiten Taisei snaps his arm out to his side, fist aimed to slam at Tenpou's other side. Sit down.]

[ Shit! Things went from bad to fucking hideous in a matter of seconds. Konzen doesn't have the best reflexes on a good day, but when a scene like this is unfolding in front of him like a nasty recurring nightmare, it's hard to know what to do next. Tenpou goes down in a spray of blood. Kenren can still shoot his gun, but isn't looking that much better, either. He has to do something. But how? With what? Konzen left his shinkis behind. He wasn't going to pull them into this fight, when odds are that none of them will survive. He has nothing in his hands but the cold invisible sensation of helplessness that he grips tightly in his trembling fist.

But what is death but another door? He has passed through this place once before. He would do it again in a heartbeat, if he could ease Goku's pain, even for a moment. And even though he might not be Seiten Taisei, Goku is still a part of him, and would not want to be remembered for the things he has done. Konzen rises to his feet. ]

Goku!

[ He pushes past the debris and calls out to him so he can see. Konzen is not afraid. He can never be, not of him. Goku could come rip his heart out if he wants to. But not before Konzen does one last task, the only thing he can do for him now. ]

[sanzohoshi]

We're up!

[She sounds entirely too cheerful and eager about it, her grip around Sanzo's waist tightening briefly in warning to prepare as she teleports them across the room in a blink. She doesn't land them right on top of Goku or anything, but she makes sure to land them behind him, a couple arms' lengths away.

NOW OR NEVER SANZO LET'S DO IT]

[ Their immediate surroundings change in a blink, disorienting, but he doesn't let go of his grim grasp on his focus. The sutra stretches with a swell of power, and he makes a sharp gesture.

Ukoku had been right, it was just like muscle memory. ] -Makai Tenjou!

[ Sanzo sags as it bursts forth in writhing lengths, snatching Seiten Taisei up first by an arm and then his other limbs. All too late, he realizes that he's at the end of his endurance. It's all he can do to hold this spell, and he could count the amount of time he had left in his rasping, labored breaths. ]
