Susano'o, Selfies, and the Subjugation of Heaven

As he'd revealed in his 3 AM BBS post, Sho has a variety of fascinating ayakashi that he wants to share with the world. By noon, several large heaps located in various parts of Heaven have caught on fire and there is a massive outpouring of taboo ayakashi.

Concentrated primarily near the Meeting Hall and Susano'o's junk heap of a temple, these ayakashi attack shinki and gods on sight. They're vicious, powerful, and the only way to defeat them is the power of teamwork.

At 2 PM, Joshua will be providing some helpful tips. Meanwhile, Sho will be teleport-spamming throughout Heaven. Feel free to text him, but he'll stop answering right around the time Bishamon and Hajime start to catch up to him. (Picowatt will be helping out from there on!)

Boss Fight: Seiten Taisei and the Neoclassical Drakes

It's the zero hour, exactly 43,200 seconds since he posted his warning to the BBS when Sho decides to change the game. Heaven has rallied against him, gods and shinki alike, and it's time to pull out the big guns.

In the air above the Meeting Hall, he unleashes thirteen Neoclassical Drakes before releasing Seiten Taisei.

And, suddenly, it's entrails everywhere.

??:??:??
Post-Battle Spring Cleaning

Well, the day is saved, but there's a metric ton left to do. The mass slaughter left a bit of a bloody mess, and Susano'o has shrines on the Near Shore covered in graffiti that can turn any stray ayakashi into the taboo sort. Weird and corrupt magics all over the place, some of which are on fire. His junkyard temple is burning merrily, and there are still some stray taboo ayakashi to put down.

Anyone ready for Spring Cleaning 2.0? Grab a mop.

[Kaneki lifts one gloved hand, wiggling his fingers demonstratively]

Hana's got me covered the-

[A gust makes him skid back in the wake of the drake's launch into the air, and he crosses his arms in front of his face. It's just a moment, a moment that seems too long when he realizes what the creature is targeting now. And it's joined by another in which Kaneki can do nothing better than stare.

With that monster in the air, being ground-bound isn't very helpful. He has to think fast, and he can only come up with one response to this]

Ion-!

[An utterance of her name is enough to revert her back to her normal form, and in the same breath he calls her vessel name again]

Renki!

[Which draws her right to his location. One thing he'd learned with Hana was that this sort of thing could be done, having once called her from a short distance away and having had gloves come at him]

We need to keep it on the ground!

[His tone is sharp, like a commander reprimanding troops, but he has his own idea of how to do that in this case. Just because his own "weapon" has lost most of its power doesn't mean he can't still make use of it.

Reaching under the fall of the coat to the back of his belt, he unclips his duel disk - it's a strange-looking thing, a large and round body holding a small screen and a deck of cards with a bolster of sorts at the back which is really just space for more, the whole thing in dark purple and silver. As he sweeps it up to his wrist, it clips itself in place with a large metal brace, and rather than pulling from the cards at the front, he opens the section at the back and pulls out a single black card.

If the holograms from this system were still as good as real with the damage to match, this would be ridiculously, unreasonably dangerous. But the fact that they aren't means it's as good a plan as he has right now to make flying more trouble than it's worth for that thing.

A blue, holographic blade flashes out as the disk turns on, and Shun lays out the card like one might load a bullet into a gun.]

Take flight, Revolution Falcon!

[A portal seems to open in the sky, and out from it comes a huge, dark, robotic bird, exhaust pipes folding out from its wings. Though it's a hologram, it looks as real as anything, and the same goes for what it does as Shun directs it toward the dragon, its wing panels starting to unhinge.]

Revolutional Air Raid!

[Those wing hatches slam out with all the sound of real metal, revealing scores of bombs hidden within, and with no further cue and an eerie, metallic screech, the bird swoops toward the dragon, dropping its payload. Though it's clear to see even from here that the bombs are doing no damage, the system still cues the drops with a huge blast of holographic fire and smoke for each one, obscuring the air and hiding their position. Bringing out two more cards, Shun summons them with less fanfare into the cloying smoke, stirring it up above the creature to imply attack from above.]

It's a hologram, but it's a sophisticated enough system that it should compensate for anything you send in. We can confuse it with this. [Warning literally anyone about what he was about to do apparently didn't occur to him, though.]

[His heart goes cold when he sees the drake targeting the little fairy. He thinks hard, running through his illusions and just as he is about to suggest a wall of fire, she is summoned back to her god.

Thank heavens.

The hologram he is not expecting, however, and Shun might sense him recoiling in fright.]

Sweet mother of god...

[Joker isn't a religious person by any stretch of the imagination, but this might be scarier than the drake because it comes from one he has chosen to trust.]

Shun, how long have ye -

[It's not important.]

Wall it in with fire! Close it in a fiery cage!

[Being pulled out of mid-song takes a surprisingly toll on Ion even as she teleports down to Kaneki's side. It's like she's forgotten how to breathe, and the crystal flowers surrounding them implode on themselves. The clear fragments left behind disappear into thin-air as she begins to cough. Luckily the burning sensation in her lungs disappears quickly enough so she's able to speak, albeit in a choked voice.]

Sorry...I couldn't move. [The downsides to Song Magic: the inability to move and the harm in quickly cutting off the energy flow.]

[personal profile] ex_savor573 2016-09-11 10:35 am (UTC)(link)
[Though they're in the middle of a fight, Kaneki does take the time to look Ion over, assessing over any apparent damage. So far she seems to be okay, aside from the coughing. Her flowers have reacted pretty violently, though he doesn't know the cause...]

Don't worry about that...are you okay?

[He's going to take the time to confirm this much before engaging the drake again, since Shun's attacks appear to be forcing the creature back down to a height he can actually reach]

[Shun can certainly feel the horrified recoil, and his own reaction is a mix of emotions - on one hand, there's a seeming incredulity that this warrants that kind of reaction, but there's something uncomfortable beneath that. His allies don't usually feel the need to fear something like this from him, and causing that is making him feel a little too close to his enemies for his liking.

Shaking his head slightly, he continues stirring the holographic smoke and flames and urging the dragon down. The beast can't seem to tell the difference, judging by its frustrated roars as it snaps at the movements within the fog - helpfully, it's far enough away from their position that it gives them time to regroup.]

It's always been my weapon, until I got here and it turned into nothing better than a distraction. It's nothing that needs to be feared.

[At least, not in this place, and not by his allies.

Sparing a glance towards Kaneki and Ion, he hisses slightly through his teeth. It's hard not to sympathise, but he hates wasting time in combat.]

If she is, we need something better than that practice run. The longer we wait, the more pissed off it's going to get.
