Summary: In a bid to take over Heaven, Sho has unleashed an apocalyptic number of taboo ayakashi the biggest Heaven-wrecking godmode weapon this side of the Far Shore. It doesn't end well. Get ready for spring cleaning 2.0.

Susano'o, Selfies, and the Subjugation of Heaven

As he'd revealed in his 3 AM BBS post, Sho has a variety of fascinating ayakashi that he wants to share with the world. By noon, several large heaps located in various parts of Heaven have caught on fire and there is a massive outpouring of taboo ayakashi.

Concentrated primarily near the Meeting Hall and Susano'o's junk heap of a temple, these ayakashi attack shinki and gods on sight. They're vicious, powerful, and the only way to defeat them is the power of teamwork.

At 2 PM, Joshua will be providing some helpful tips. Meanwhile, Sho will be teleport-spamming throughout Heaven. Feel free to text him, but he'll stop answering right around the time Bishamon and Hajime start to catch up to him. (Picowatt will be helping out from there on!)

Boss Fight: Seiten Taisei and the Neoclassical Drakes

It's the zero hour, exactly 43,200 seconds since he posted his warning to the BBS when Sho decides to change the game. Heaven has rallied against him, gods and shinki alike, and it's time to pull out the big guns.

In the air above the Meeting Hall, he unleashes thirteen Neoclassical Drakes before releasing Seiten Taisei.

And, suddenly, it's entrails everywhere.

Post-Battle Spring Cleaning

Well, the day is saved, but there's a metric ton left to do. The mass slaughter left a bit of a bloody mess, and Susano'o has shrines on the Near Shore covered in graffiti that can turn any stray ayakashi into the taboo sort. Weird and corrupt magics all over the place, some of which are on fire. His junkyard temple is burning merrily, and there are still some stray taboo ayakashi to put down.

Anyone ready for Spring Cleaning 2.0? Grab a mop.

[ On hindsight, it's probably a good thing that Sheryl's trajectory takes her to this part of the battle, Reiji is here, alone - it's a one-on-one battle against a Taboo shinki, but it's a wolf-type and its speed has already given it an advantage. ]

Sheryl! Help me!

[ This he says as he hurriedly parries one of its swipes. He looks a lot worse for wear than she is; several moments of indecision had dealt him injuries.

Being caught without his god is a very bad idea. ]

[galactically]

[Sheryl pauses in her steps, mouth agape in horror at what she's seeing. There is no way she's going to let Reiji get hurt than he already is; she can't let him fight this wolf-like monstrosity when he looks unwell. Sure she's horrified and it clearly shows in her face, but—]

Reiji!

[Spurred by the urge to protect, Sheryl rushes forward and swings the sword in the wolf's direction. One of its claws is about to strike her down, but she lifts up the blade to block it.]

[ Sheryl probably won't have time to pay attention to this in the immediate moment, but - Reiji's stance in this battle is completely different from how he usually holds himself. There's a great deal of tension in his posture, and he's able to keep up with his opponent for the most part. If not for his inexperience landing him several injuries, he might have been an equal match.

But he isn't good enough yet, and it's only by sheer force of will alone that he's able to command his body to move with great agility. ]

[ Her block had given him a few seconds of breathing room, letting him shift his grip and rush at the wolf's flank. Hopefully this works. ]

[galactically]

[There is just one little problem: this wolf is nothing like the small taboo ayakashi that Sheryl can at least toss around and whack them like she's holding a baseball bat. It's incredibly strong that even she's struggling, feeling her feet drag from her position despite the enhanced swordsmanship that's bestowed upon her.

No, this is nothing like the ayakashi she's had to deal with in the past either. This one is worse.

The wolf shifts its hips with quick reflexes, yanking Sheryl with its free claw and practically aiming her at Reiji's direction. Almost as if it knows it's about to be attacked from behind.]

Kyaaaaa! Let me go!

[heiring]

[ Reiji doesn't even have the time to intervene, trusting that Sheryl would be able to catch herself. He practically throws himself out of the way, but it's a smooth coordinated dive instead; using the momentum to spin himself around the ayakashi and into open space. ]

Sorry!

[ And then, before his speed makes him trip over himself, he lunges forward again. ]

[galactically]

[Sheryl lets out a loud shriek, finding herself landing on her side really hard, a shot of pain coursing through the middle of her body. There is a sizable claw-like opening on her dress, leaving a part of abdomen exposed, thin trails of blood flowing from the gaping tears. With one hand still gripping on to the hilt of the sword, she leans on to her elbows to push herself up, groaning in pain and panting heavily.

Frankly she looks like a mess.]

You idiot! Why didn't you catch me?!

[She'd chastise Reiji some more, but horror flashes before her eyes as the wolf-like ayakashi takes a giant leap, swinging a heavy claw at his abdomen. It's way too fast and strong for one shinki alone, too merciless.]

[heiring]

[ Of course he was an idiot. What kind of a friend was he if he couldn't even save his friends? A useless one, of course. ]

I'm sorry. [ But what she's said reminds him of something, a skill that he had not considered worth trying when dueling the ayakashi one-on-one. He still isn't perfect at it, but at least it was worth a try now that he has someone he wants to protect. ]

Begone!

[ He slashes his sword in a horizontal line in front of him, a borderline springing into existence. The line curves back behind him, surrounding the two of them in a closed half-sphere. A split second later the ayakashi's claw slams into the barrier, but it holds - barely.

I won't let you hurt them!

He's prepared to hold this borderline until he passes out. ]

[galactically]

[The longer she stares in horror, the more time she wastes. What kind of goddess would she be if she does nothing? A useless one.

Despite the pain traveling across her sides, Sheryl grits her teeth and bears it while she uses the sword to prop herself up, blowing a random strand away from her face. Her shoulders and knees may be trembling as she rises to her feet, but she has to try and use her power on that ayakashi. How long will Reiji keep up the barrier? She can't let him do this alone and have him get hurt because of her...

Sheryl parts her lips and sings, forcing herself to project her voice in an attempt to at least slow that monster down, to drive it down to its knees. Except these kind of ayakashi are a lot stronger than before.
