Summary: In a bid to take over Heaven, Sho has unleashed an apocalyptic number of taboo ayakashi the biggest Heaven-wrecking godmode weapon this side of the Far Shore. It doesn't end well. Get ready for spring cleaning 2.0.

Susano'o, Selfies, and the Subjugation of Heaven

As he'd revealed in his 3 AM BBS post, Sho has a variety of fascinating ayakashi that he wants to share with the world. By noon, several large heaps located in various parts of Heaven have caught on fire and there is a massive outpouring of taboo ayakashi.

Concentrated primarily near the Meeting Hall and Susano'o's junk heap of a temple, these ayakashi attack shinki and gods on sight. They're vicious, powerful, and the only way to defeat them is the power of teamwork.

At 2 PM, Joshua will be providing some helpful tips. Meanwhile, Sho will be teleport-spamming throughout Heaven. Feel free to text him, but he'll stop answering right around the time Bishamon and Hajime start to catch up to him. (Picowatt will be helping out from there on!)

Boss Fight: Seiten Taisei and the Neoclassical Drakes

It's the zero hour, exactly 43,200 seconds since he posted his warning to the BBS when Sho decides to change the game. Heaven has rallied against him, gods and shinki alike, and it's time to pull out the big guns.

In the air above the Meeting Hall, he unleashes thirteen Neoclassical Drakes before releasing Seiten Taisei.

And, suddenly, it's entrails everywhere.

Post-Battle Spring Cleaning

Well, the day is saved, but there's a metric ton left to do. The mass slaughter left a bit of a bloody mess, and Susano'o has shrines on the Near Shore covered in graffiti that can turn any stray ayakashi into the taboo sort. Weird and corrupt magics all over the place, some of which are on fire. His junkyard temple is burning merrily, and there are still some stray taboo ayakashi to put down.

Anyone ready for Spring Cleaning 2.0? Grab a mop.

[Ayumu's face pales at the mention of training.]

Absolutely not. I forbid it.

[ She cannot, will not, repeat the same mistakes she did with Susumu. She was a different person then, one who's better off left to rot in the past. The sister who only existed in name, in blood, but never in deed. The sister who trained her own younger sibling to become like herself - a cold, emotionless shinobi who would never know what it was like to live in the light - to live a peaceful, happy life bereft of fighting and hardship. Is it so wrong for her to want so desperately to spare a child from experiencing the same horrors she had?

Her voice softens, becomes more like the usual gentle tone she takes with him.]

You shouldn't be so eager to throw your childhood away, Satoshi. It's a priceless luxury others don't get to enjoy.

[ Satoshi's temper is quickly extinguished at the change in tone. He looked down again, genuinely apologetic. ]

I'm not trying to throw my childhood away, but I can't keep sitting around and doing nothing. I'm worth more then that.

[kagenonadeshiko]

I know you are. That's why I'm watching you, trying to learn where your talents lie. I've looked into schooling for you, testing, to see where you stand in your education. You are young and I'm from a time when children had to grow up fast - too fast.

[She looks down, tired but not completely defeated.]

Please understand, Satoshi, what you ask of me is not a decision I can easily make. It is difficult for me to accept you as my protector and not the other way around. And while there are things that I can teach you, many of them are things no child should ever have to learn.

[gekkodaze]

Alright...[ But the thought of school. Satoshi felt that maybe that wasn't what he should be doing. He should be adventuring, trying to find his own way of doing things. Something about school didn't seem right, but he couldn't tell Ayumu that. She was obviously trying to do what was best for him and he disrespected her...]

I'm sorry I disrespected you. I didn't really consider your feelings at all because I was frustrated with being so helpless.

[kagenonadeshiko]

I know you're frustrated but you aren't helpless. I don't take you with me to answer prayers because it's safe or easy, I take you with me because you're a genuine help. You see things in a way that I can't and understand things that I don't. And there's much you're capable of that I'm not.

[She sighs but doesn't reach out to pat his head or ruffle his hair like she usually does. That doesn't seem appropriate right now.]

But I'll think some more on this, about what I'm ready to teach and you're ready to learn.

[Back then they'd made a promise, that she'd let him help her and he would listen to her if she said things were too dangerous. She was determined to find a way to make this partnership work for both of them and she still is.]

[ Satoshi nodded and now held onto the front of his shirt. He did promise her that he would stay out of harms way and disobeyed that promise. He just wanted to help! He waited for her to give her a punishment, given that he knew she was coming to that. He couldn't really apologize for much else anyway. ]

[kagenonadeshiko]

[But no punishment comes. At least, not at this moment. Instead, Ayumu turns her attention to his wounds and begins assessing the gravity of his injuries. Before anything else, these cuts need to be cleaned and bandaged.]

Go to your room. I'll get some supplies and tend to your wounds. Then it's bedtime, understand?

[gekkodaze]

Yes ma'am! [ Satoshi hurries off and goes to his room, settling onto he floor instead of his bed because he didn't want to get the sheets dirty. He waited patiently for the other and knew, in some way, he was going to get some kind of punishment. ]

[kagenonadeshiko]

[Ayumu arrives sometime later with a bowl of warm water, washcloth, bandages, and a small tin of herbal salve. She sets her things down and kneels beside him.]

Where are you hurt?

[gekkodaze]

[ Satoshi rolled up his sleeves and showed the bruises and scratches. The scratches were superficial and looked like they were more from falling or running into others. ]

[kagenonadeshiko]

[As Ayumu inspects the cuts and bruises, she lets out a quiet, relieved sigh. While she's sure it hurts, his injuries look very minor. He truly is lucky to have gotten off so light considering the chaos outdoors.]

These shouldn't be too hard to fix up. Nothing looks bad enough for you to need stitches. Does anything feel bruised under your clothes? Your ribs or anything?

[As she speaks, she wets the washcloth and starts to clean his cuts, working as gently as she can.]

[ It doesn't hurt, but it sure does sting a bit. Satoshi tries to stay still, but it's obvious that it's a little hard for him at first. ]

I don't...not that I can tell, just my arms and stuff.

[kagenonadeshiko]

Are you blighted anywhere? Did you touch any of the ayakashi?

[She probably should have asked that first but she's still not quite used to including that in her injury checklist. Ayumu's used to dealing with more mundane, tangible wounds than spiritual ones.]

[gekkodaze]

I don't think so. I was really careful about that part!

[kagenonadeshiko]

[That's a relief. She isn't seeing any holes in his shirt anywhere so it's doubtful there's any hidden under the fabric.]

So exactly what did you do while you were out?

[Her tone isn't angry; it's conversational as if she's simply inquiring about one of his adventures. Ayumu's still displeased about being deliberately disobeyed but apologies were made and they've moved on from that. And she is curious about how he conducted himself on the battlefield.]

[gekkodaze]

[ Satoshi moved his feet back and forth. ]

Well, I made sure that the people who were hurt were taken to safety...I tried to get the little ayakashi things away from them...mostly just making sure other people were safe!

[kagenonadeshiko]

I see. That doesn't sound too bad.

[Still dangerous but not quite as bad as she'd feared. The last thing she wants is for him to get hurt charging headlong into battle. Maybe she could take him with her sometime, just as an experiment. Not against anything like the ones she saw today but maybe some of the smaller ones on the Near Shore.]

[gekkodaze]

Yeah...I just wanted to help. I mean, I can fight, but I know that you don't want me to do anything like that. But...I decided to still help.

[ Satoshi looks determined at his own words. He didn't want to just sit when he could have done something to help. ]

[kagenonadeshiko]

[Satoshi can fight? Has he had prior training? Ayumu doesn't recall seeing any indication of that in the vision she'd had of his death. The possibility hadn't even occurred to her because of his age and of course, it's not like she can ask him about his history.

Ayumu continues to clean his wounds in silent contemplation for a moment before finally speaking up.]

What makes you say you can fight?

[Her tone's thoughtful, considering. If he's already had some training and exposure, that does change the situation a little. She's still hesitant to place him in danger but if what's done is done... For better or worse, she's too pragmatic to waste a potential resource, even one so young. And if he's determined to assist anyway...]

[gekkodaze]

Actually, I don't know. I don't have a lot of memories of being able to fight but...I have a feeling that I can do it.

[ Though, the type of fighting he's thinking of may be leaning more towards his subconscious thoughts about training. ]

I just...feel like I'm not doing enough.

[kagenonadeshiko]

What do you think would be enough?

[It's a question she probably should have asked him long ago but she's been so caught up in thinking of him as a child to care for that it hadn't crossed her mind.]

I've said it before, but learning things about this place, doing things with you and the other shinki...helping with the monsters...

Nothing like that is a waste, but it would help me feel like I'm doing something.

[kagenonadeshiko]

Learning things? Like what?

[Intelligence gathering is an area she's comfortable using him for. A calculating gleam surfaces in the way she looks at him for a moment. His appearance and other form have the potential to be quite useful in that department.]

Learning how to use my vessel form to fight, learning how I can really help everyone...Instead of just using it for the size! You know...being a little bit more useful.

[kagenonadeshiko]

Information is useful, you know. Knowing how to gather it and put it to use are important skills to learn.

[His other form is so small and yellow. It's so easy to picture an ayakashi just gobbling him up on the spot. And of course, there's the fact Ayumu has no experience working with animals in combat.

She sighs and continues dabbing at his wounds.]

But please tell me. How do you see yourself fighting in that form?
