Who: Jae-Ha (
razzledazzles) & Hazel (
churchbelle)
What: Two nerds go shopping / Also using this now for sad angst
When: April 17th / April 20th
Where: Out on the town... or something
Warnings: Don't look at them they're stupid
[They've been in this clothing store for ten minutes now, and Jae-Ha is already wondering what he's supposed to do with his own taste in fashion. He can't seem to find any of the long robes he likes, and the pants he's run across are too tight for his liking. He's not even looking at shoes, for some reason, and eventually, he slides over to pinch at the material of a strange looking coat with a collar that's too big.]
I don't think I've seen a single thing I can see myself in. Have you?

If I was going to run, I would have done it by now. [He wouldn't be back here, staring awkwardly at Hazel in his sleep robe. Hmm. It's a bit pointless now to shove sad thoughts away when he knows it doesn't matter how great his pokerface is. Still, there's got to be effort on both of their ends to break the tension, and Hazel already had a small attempt from his end. It only makes sense.]
It works out, doesn't it? I've been meaning to check up on you, anyway.
no subject
So that's settled, for the moment. He doesn't have to wonder if being a shinki for someone besides that 'Yona' is so abhorrent that Jae-Ha's going to go off and try to make it on his own, and die again. If he has to do something stupid, he could at least give Hazel a heads up first. It's only polite.]
Am I the responsibility, now? You're switchin' it around from the usual, from my understandin'.
[He means this to be lighthearted, really... Jae-Ha is most definitely his responsibility now, but maybe he'll think on that privately a little longer.]
jae-ha calm the fuck down
Is that what you think?
[That gods are responsible for shinki, and nothing else? How silly. He crosses those few feet of space between them at a casual pace.] I hate fate and this system so much it makes my blood boil. But this isn't something you chose, either. I take this very seriously.
If anyone even tries to touch you, I'll tear them apart myself. [Does that make it clear enough that he thinks this is a two way road?? He hopes so, because he's extending his hand now.] Give me a name.
jae-ha has never been calm in his life
At the same time, all of that... does make it pretty clear how Jae-Ha feels. They both hate this system, and honestly that helps.] Alright, alright, y'made your point powerfully clear.
[He sees no particular reason to advise Jae-Ha against tearing people apart... That seems normal, for this kind of relationship??
That hand's waiting for him, though, and he reaches out to take it after a moment's pause. Okay, well—] Y'got ideas? Or maybe a dictionary?
that may be true
It all works out in the end, even if Hazel apparently can't even think of a good word to call him.]
You could always call me "Beautiful." [He just smiles, like this is a completely serious suggestion, still holding that hand.]
what happened here
...Well, he might as well check... One of these rooms has a bookshelf and maybe there's a dictionary on it, so without saying anything else he simply sidesteps Jae-Ha and tugs him out of the piano room by the hand. Let's go.
He will let go when he does conveniently find a dictionary, and does his best to look up "beautiful"...]
Well, I'll be damned. That's not so hard. [This is mostly to himself, before he looks up from the book at Jae-Ha.] Might as well, I reckon.
[last chance...... to not be called pretty boy officially...]
jesus christ
Of course, he has no qualms about being called beautiful.]
Now, you should know I've only done this once before. [stop] Be gentle. [double stop]
arrest jae-ha again
He peers at all of the available kanji, which is... only somewhat mind-boggling... But this first one is easy enough that he can actually read it, and fortunately he's instilled with some kind of natural sense for how this naming thing works now. But while he's still working it out, not even looking at Jae-Ha‐] Biki...? Is that the way?
[whoa where did jae-ha go]
—Oh, that's most certainly the way.
no
What are you doing, saying it casually like that?! You dropped me on the ground! [Now the pendant is yelling at him, so this is a great first experience with shinki.] I said be gentle!
yes
There's a little dragon on it though, so like, can Jae-Ha see out of its eyes or something...? Hazel stands there holding it up in front of his face, like this is going to test his theory.]
How was I meant to know you were gonna turn faster than a dog tryin' to catch its own behind? [That's flattering.] I'm not sure what I was expectin', to be quite honest.
[Look at this thing... Take back that sass about his tie, goddamn.]
no subject
[Just trust him on this one. Somehow, he knows what he is even if he can't see himself, but he can't quite witness how cheesy he is from that, either.]
I must be stunning, for you to be staring at me like that. [That's not quite it, but he'll dream.]
no subject
You're somethin' else. A real novelty. [Should he... put the necklace on...? That seems like too much for this, right now, so after considering briefly he sets the pendant back down on the ground. He doesn't want to know what random part of Jae-Ha he'll be holding if he does this with the thing still in his hand-]
"Jae-Ha"'s how it's done in reverse, ain't it? [hey...]
no subject
Yes... I wonder, if my form is different then is my ability, as well? [ He has no idea how this works, either. He just had decided on assuming his power was balance when yona didn't fall over in a single heeled boot... ]
no subject
That's enough of that for now, ain't it? Give it a day to settle.
[Wait until it's a little bit less awkward...]
no subject
And now he's getting shoulder pats and left thinking about how they first stumbled into each other, and the look on Hazel's face. He crosses his arms.]
It's a hassle, isn't it?
no subject
It is a hassle. Having a shinki in general is, by the nature of it - being called a god is a hassle, too.]
What, the necklace? I don't mind a lil thing like that.
no subject
Is that so? [He figures it's enough of an answer for Hazel to avoid answering him. It's a hassle, of course it is. Even asking about it is a hassle, in a way... This is awkward in a way he doesn't want to address, and he just hopes it doesn't cause any tension in what had been one of his few comfortable relationships here.
He realizes he's been lingering behind for a longer moment than he should and follows after Hazel. Mostly because he doesn't know where else to go in this large temple.]
no subject
Why don't we have a song? Y'feel up to it?
no subject
[Hopefully Hazel is ready for full feelings into the music Jae-Ha plays. He slides into a seat at the piano, running his finger across the front of it before the keys like he's idly checking for dust.
And then he just looks to Hazel, expectantly waiting for him to sit beside him.]
Ready for one, then?
no subject
Hazel is possibly ready for full feelings music, but he takes a seat next to him and leans his elbow on the edge of the piano the same way he did the first time as casually as possible. This is casual. He doesn't have a lot to think about and he certainly doesn't need to keep Jae-Ha busy with something besides looking at him and waiting for him to get to the point.
Definitely not.]
Go on.
no subject
But right, definitely not. Jae-Ha glances at the keys to the piano, playing a few drawn out notes and cords testingly before he plays a song. It's about as depressing as you'd expect, and now Hazel can enjoy the god and shinki link even if he doesn't feel for the music on its own. It's clear Jae-Ha has a lot of sad things on his mind, but that's what music is for, he supposes!
He might even play a couple of songs, if Hazel doesn't stop him.]
no subject
But like the last time, he'll sit here and watch, and listen, and take in Jae-Ha's music with these multiple new perspectives he has on the man. It bothers him that there are things he can't say - things he thinks Jae-Ha has a right to know, if he's going to know anything, but some force he can't set aside makes him stop.
Well, maybe he can be vague.]
When ya knocked me over in the hall, I saw a... a vision, of sorts. I saw ya get hurt.
no subject
Hurt? [A vision... That explains his expression. He only remembers it when looking back, since he'd been too lost in the moment itself. Now he recalls it all too clearly, even in the dark. His stomach sinks with dread as he tries to piece together what that could mean.]
Wait. [His death, what else could it be, right?] You shouldn't say too much.
no subject
I'm not sayin' any more. Just figured ya deserved to know the problem, that's all.
no subject
I wonder if it's the unfortunate result of spending too much time together? [He doesn't know how this works, but he feels responsible, somehow.] I'm sorry that you had to see that.
[And he's sorry that he wants to know what happened, too. This is horrible.]
