Who: Everyone!
What: Surprise! There's a disaster on the Near Shore.
When: Late at night (February 24, 2016) into mid-afternoon (February 25, 2016)
Where: The Meeting Hall of the Heavens AND various places around Tokyo
Summary: A nice little greeting for the new guests and an unpleasant surprise for the older ones~



A sudden, loud blast of noise persists throughout the entirety of the Heavens. It sounds much like a war horn of ancient times being played at a decibel that is meant to shake the very core of every being within its range. No matter how much you might try to block out the noise, it remains ringing in your ears deafeningly, and somehow you find yourself compelled towards the Meeting Hall - the place where you were first introduced to the Heavens and what you have gotten wrapped up in.

Anyone checking their phones will notice a large, bright red alert flashing at them - 'EMERGENCY! REPORT IMMEDIATELY!' It seems that the Heavens have taken to using modern technology for their messages as well.

Once you have reached the Meeting Hall, you will find that every wall has turned into a sort of television screen, displaying various streets and buildings in Tokyo, everyone one literally crawling with ayakashi both big and small. A voice that you recognize as Amaterasu's - though you would never be able to describe it properly - rings throughout the halls.

"We need your help, brave gods, loyal shinki. A rift the likes of which we have never dealt with has opened on the Near Shore. We must end the ayakashi who are harming our dear followers. Please come to our aid in this time of need."



Meeting Hall

The once garishly decorated Meeting Hall looks very much like the base of operations for an army at war. There are gods gearing up with shinki and man-made gear as well and plenty of gods and shinki saying prayers before they head out to battle. Everything you might need to make yourself feel safe during a fight has been provided, including every type of weaponry. But, of course, only shinki wielded by a god can actually destroy an ayakashi.

Counselling

In the main hallway, there is an innocuous door with a small, nicely written sign that reads "Gentle Counselling". Inside the door is a small room with a few sweetly smiling shinki inside who are willing to listen to your problems and answer any questions you might have. They are also here to help out any gods that are having a hard time dealing with knowing about how their shinki died and any shinki that is having trouble coming to terms with the fact that they are dead.

February 24

The rift that has opened is so vast that there is literally nowhere in Tokyo that you can go without encountering a rampaging group of ayakashi. Everything is utter chaos and there are creatures everywhere for you to fight. Let's just hope that you can get out of this dangerous battlefront mostly unscathed.

February 25

Towards the middle of the day, it will seem that the ayakashi are becoming fewer and further between. Things seem to be calming down a lot, though they are nowhere near normal yet, especially since the rift is taking longer to close than the Heavens would like. Fortunately, no new ayakashi have escaped into the Near Shore from the rift since this morning, due to a barrier that has been placed around it. Still, the ayakashi seem to be really hell-bent on getting away from you all now rather than fighting...



In Summary:

• There are a ton of ayakashi on the Near Shore that need to be destroyed.
• The newbies are getting one hell of a welcome as a result.
• Seek counselling if you need it!
• Go kick some evil ass.
• Comment to the first thread to get a randomly generated number of ayakashi to face.
• Mods will gladly play out any ayakashi interactions where requested.
• Try not to get killed~

[Meeting Hall]

[There's another new face in the room, staring curiously at the screens showing everything. She doesn't look like much, a typical high schooler. If anything she's out of place and looks like a stray mortal that got scooped up...but was there truly a ideal profile for a God to be? It didn't seem like it with all the different kinds of people she caught passing by.

All in all, her attention shifts from the screen to anyone walking by. She points at the screen.]

So those are Ayakashi? Wow, there's so many! How do you stop so many...I don't even know where to start!!

[ Feb 24]

[ There's so much going on, so many gods fighting and so many Ayakashi attacking....it's hard to keep track of much of it at all. But Hajime is more then willing to help out anyway she can. Unlike most of the other gods she's doing this solo with no Shinki.
Call it unlucky if you will.

Even without that though, she's still willing to do something. Until a better plan comes up, delaying and distracting will work. So long as the town is saved that's what matters right?

So never-mind the high-school uniformed student waving her arms wildly, loudly calling out to the Ayakashi's nearby. Anything to get their attention]

Ayakashi!!! Yoohooo! Over here! You don't want to play with those people that won't notice you. Come this way!

[She smiles brightly, gathering their attention before darting off. They were chasing after her and leaving the others alone, good! Now she just needed to figure out what to do with them.]

Feb 24

[ It's not with heroism in mind that Sho intervenes.

It's more that he's impressed that she'd managed to gather up so many of them, drawing them in. If he had a better nature, he might have even let her keep them all, but his misplaced sense of competition has him after what he assumes to be her targets. Minamimoto flickers into existence on the head of one of the largest ones, taking aim and firing a shot with his fancy new weapon before vanishing again. Repeating that strategy means that it'll just be a function of time before he's wrecked the worst of the highschooler's followers.

He can't help but feel rather smug. Such a successful effort at stealing kills seems worth gloating about. ]

Heh, sucks to be you. [ He teleports ahead of the girl, stomping on a comically small phantom for emphasis. ] I'm adding these to my tally.

[It's hard to miss the ruckus going on behind her, spinning on her heels, arms out she turns to face the mass of Ayakashi behind her. There was a large herd she had managed to gather together on her own but something was starting to take them down. Her mouth gapes in awe as she just barely catches sight of him. He's there---no there--Now he's there! Ohhhh! So fast! Hajime lifts a hand, pointing at him with her index finger. But just as she does, he's somewhere else! No matter where she points to try and follow the fellow god, She can't keep up! ]

Wooow!

[Hajime perks hearing his voice. She turn dramatically, her arm and finger extended to point at him. Just in case he goes to vanish again.]

There!

[She smile's triumphantly at Sho, as if she's the true winner, before lowering her hand skipping over to him]

That was amazing! So fast! So fassst~! Bang here! Bang there! You were untouchable! Awesome!

[ For a moment, he braces himself to teleport out in case the pointing heralded an attack, but- wait, what?

He's taken aback by the enthusiasm. It's not every day he's greeted in such a positive way, especially when he'd been showing someone just how inferior they were. The whole script is turned on its head as she excitedly proclaims his awesomeness. It's not normal!

Of course, she's entirely right about him. It's an effort of will to keep the confusion from being anything more than a flicker on his face. ]

Damn right I'm zetta fast. [ He shrugs like it's no big deal. Really, it's not at all flustering to be faced with compliments. Not in the least. Nope. ] These half-ass hectopascals have nothing on me.

You are! I couldn't keep up! I don't think I've seen someone so fast---Zetta fast!!!

[ His words are interesting too! She's not exactly sure why he's using them in that way but it's easy enough to understand overall. Zetta fast had a super cute ring to it too! She giggles, brightening up that much more.]

Thanks for the help too!

[Hajime stops just in front of him, smiling away like it' an other bright sunny day and Sho just pulled off a really cool trick. She holds her hand out to him.]

I'm Hajime! Nice to meet you!

[ It doesn't occur to him to, say, take her offered hand like a normal person might. He looks at her, not sure where this is going, and waves negligently. ]

Susano'o. The greatest god you'll ever get to meet.

[ The ayakashi under his boot has finally managed to wriggle out. He glances down, relieved for the new focus and briefly amused by the squeaky-toy noise it makes. It's overkill for such a small fry, but he takes aim as it scrambles away and squeezes the trigger.

There's something novel about how ayakashi are erased. ]

What's a single digit like you doin' out here? [ It's strangely like small talk, and he has no idea why his words came out like that. ]

[That's okay! She doesn't seem to mind and instead mimics the wave with her extended hand before lowering it.]

Susano'o.... [Interesting name too! Her attention also drifts to the little ayakashi. Before she can even react, Susano'o takes care of it in a flash. The tiny thing really didn't look dangerous. Sorta like MESS. Did they really have to take them all out? Hm...]

You've got good aim, Susano'o-san! Tigger happy, too!

[She spreads her arms, gesturing to the city.]

I'm helping out! But I don't have my NOTE or a Shinki so I'm doing what I can to help everyone, you know?

Feb 24th - useless duo

[Perfect. Hajime, meet Gintoki, as the two crash into each other on the road. It's what happens when you carelessly run around while looking at the terrifying monsters behind you. Though, Gintoki being a grown man, Hajime probably gets the worst of it. This was so not refreshing. There wasn't even any toast anywhere.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have a shinki either. All he has is a wooden staff to knock them around a bit. For now, though, he'll sit up while rubbing his head and wondering what the hell just happened. He'll say something when he spots her.]

Eh-! Oi . . . oi, you're not dead, are you? You're not, right? Oi!

[what kind of a question even is that??]

Most useless duo of gods

[She had taken a quick glance over her shoulder to check on the large group of Ayakashi behind her. Somehow she had a good distance on them despite their size and her lack there of. SHe's not worried and waves back at them.]

Hurry! Hurry! Over here! You don't want to lose me, right?!

[She sounds way too cheerful about being chased by monsters that want to end her. But that isn't were her attention should be as Gintoki makes apparent. She turns just in time to crash into Gintoki. With both of them running, its a hard impact.

She falls to the ground and skidding just a little. That hurt! She lays there for a moment, staring up at the sky. What a entrance! Talk about crashing onto the scene... She sits up after a second, rubbing her backside.]

Oww ow ow...... You're build like a tank!

[She slowly looks to him, blinking at his questions. Dead? Nope! She is still breathing! That would be a terrible ending.]

Nope! Not Dead. See?

[Hajime perks and waves her arms in front of her. Everything still working and attached and a distinct lack of death!]

Are you okay?

[As she talks to him, he'll freeze and turn around.

Yeah, that's right, turn around. Because, by now, he'd gotten up and he, he was just looking for more monsters. It's not like he was going to leave the scene of this accident and deny everything. And just leave her there. Or something like that. He wasn't, not really. ]

Eh- Aah, hahaha! [WOW he's laughing kind of loud] Yeah, yeah I'm like, you know, I'm better than okay! [He'll ruffle a hand through his hair with another stupid laugh, giving her a wave back, only to glance at his--

--hand, he'll raise his eyebrows a little --

It's not like there's blood all over his hand or anything. He's not frantically scrubbing it on his white kimono, leaving stains everywhere.

. . . okay, maybe he bumped his head on the sidewalk. It looks worse than it is.]

Hahahahaha, I was . . . you know, I was eating a. . . a sandwich. . . !

[trying so hard to be cool]

[Hajime pushes herself off the ground and dusts herself off as he talks. She's got a few minor scrapes from the rough concrete but nothing too bad. Not like his bleeding head.]

That's good that you're okay! Your head doesn't want to agree though...!

[She walks over to him, a distinct hop in her stride until she is standing close. He's good a good few inches on her.]

If you sit down real quick I'll stop the bleeding for you, mister!

N-no no, it's okay, my head doesn't agree with a lot of the stuff I do.

[He'll lean back just a bit with a step, just so he can look down at her.]

. . . it looks like it's bleeding a lot, huh? It's probably just, you know, someone was painting a building somewhere, and it's probably fine. . .like, I feel pretty good right now.

[He'll give his head a few knocks, but that was a mistake because he's wincing just a bit. He'll sigh.]

Fine, fine. It's not a big deal though.

[He's had so much worse.]

[He's so stubborn..and tall! Hajime just watches, almost winching herself when he knocks his own head. It doesn't prove her wrong; just furthers her concern. So she matches his stubbornness with her own, standing there patiently.]

That won't do! Let me see!

Meeting Hall

That's what the gods are supposed to figure out, right?

[Says the fairly petite girl with a sword hanging at her side. Her clothes are simple enough, though the pointed ears sticking out of her long purple hair may draw some looks. Or not, who knows, Hajime knows some pretty interesting people.]

[Hajime blinks and looks over to the girl---a really cute girl too! She takes a second to marvel at her appearance. Long purple hair, cute ears and piercing ruby red eyes. She's like a super cute heroine from a cool game! Hajime can't help but smile at her! The sword is also noted but Yuuki isn't the first person she's seen carrying a sword around. Especially since weapons being provided now.]

I'm sure as long as everyone does their best, everything will work out!

[The grin she gives when she hears that could probably best be described as "impish." Which is appropriate, given her (technical) race.]

Heheh, right! It looks like a lot, but if they're all weak, I think we can make it through!

[The sword already feels comfortable in her hand, and though the number of ayakashi is daunting, she's confident she will be able to pull through alright. There's a lot of them, yes, but quantity didn't always mean power.]

[Oh this girl has confidence to boot! The grin just makes her that much more cuter. It really suits her!]

I'm sure we can! Even if they're strong, we just have to be stronger!

[She pushes out her hand to Yuuki, smile growing by the second.]

I'm Hajime! Nice to meet you!

[She takes that hand with a firm grip of her own!]

Nice to meet you! I'm Yuuki. Yuuki Konno!

[Yup, the video game-ish looking elf(???) girl has a totally Japanese name. Don't think about it too hard.]

Are you a shinki, too?

Yuuki....Yuuuuki~♫! That's a cute name! It suits you!

[The firm grip is noted but Hajime doesn't bat an eye to it. Yuuki looks strong even with her small frame so her grip isn't that surprising. Hajime knows small packages can pack quite the punch. All the same, She bops their hands up and down and up and down, repeatedly. Maybe even a bit excessively. But there's good meaning to it. Hajime is just excited to meet her.]

I'm a god! But really I'm just me.

There may be many of them, but if we work together we will stop them.

[The answer comes from a boy with a strange haircut and a black cape over his shoulders. He's watching her with his cold grey eyes, frowning all the time.

Yet despite the air of unfriendliness about him he really believes in his words.]

[Hajime blinks and spins around to face the caped stranger with the coolest hair she's ever seen! How does he get it to stay that way? The outfit is interesting too! She can't help but gape a little at him. He doesn't look too far from her age either. Oh this is exciting!]

Right! You're right! I'm sure if everyone works together, everything will work itself out, you know?

[She thrust her hand out to him, smiling brightly. Not wasting a second]

Hiya! I'm Hajime! I really like your hair! It's super cool and WOOO~SH to the side like that!

[His eyes narrow slightly when she's gaping at him, but he nods at her first words anyway.

And then she goes and introduces herself. And comments on his hair. Now it's Yuto's turn to blink as his gaze shifts first to her hand, then back to her face.]

...I'm Yuto. [He sounds a little caught off guard.] ...And thanks, I guess.

[...What's so cool about his hair he does not know. He doesn't do anything with it either. His hair has been like this for as long as he can remember. Even its color is natural!... Or at least he thinks so. He doesn't remember anything from the time when he was still alive, after all.]

[She holds her hand out to for awhile longer until she's sure he doesn't take it. Instead she claps her out stretched hand with her other hand and shakes them together. Giving herself a handshake in his stead]

Nice to meet you Yuto!

[Hajime's smile grows at that as she lowers her hands]

It's true! I've never seen someone with such cool hair. It suits you!
Oh! re you a God too? This is my first time at it.

[Now she's giving herself a handshake? What an... unusual girl.]

...It's nice to meet you as well.

[He doesn't smile, his expression remains a frown, although a smaller one than moments earlier.

So she's a god? At the question he shakes his head.]

I'm a shinki.

[She steps closer, leaning in towards him. Her face stops just inches from his as if she's trying to get a closer look. There really is no way to tell Shinki, Gods and just regular people apart. Aside from his super cool hair and interesting attire, Hajime wouldn't think he was different from any other school kid walking about. The same could be said about herself too. ]

Cool! You're the...second shinki I've met!

[Her smile just grows but at least she leans back so she's not so much in his personal space.]
