if you're still breathing
Who: Izuku and Kido
What: Prayer #18
When: April 24
Where: The Near Shore
Warnings: shrug
Izuku has a habit of picking up prayers that are just about being generally nice to people. Kido has no issue with it, but she can't help but feel a little pointless when it came to things like actually interacting with people.
She's too shy for any of this. She's not good with people. And Deku's so much better than her, if there's no ayakashi, she doesn't see the point in her being pulled along. After all she felt like she made everything worse in their first prayer. She stings him, she's invisible half the time, now. He does well without her.
But she can't deny that it makes her happy that he insists she comes along. It's an interesting back and forth in her mind and chest. So she just stuffs her hands in her pocket, one earbud in her ear.
"You said we're trying to console somebody, right?"

Kido's doing better all the time, she stings him every once in a while, but it's nothing like the pain when she first arrived. He just hopes he can continue being somebody she relies on, she worries over a lot- which he's no stranger to, but he also tends to throw himself into what he cares about so he doesn't have that much time to worry.
"Right. They've lost their best friend recently, and they're having trouble moving on." Honestly, he can understand that.

Or just got in an argument forever and now they're not talking and freaking out about it. She knows it could go both way. She knows either way it'd hurt a lot.

He's only had to deal with it once, but it still weighed heavy on his mind. It's maybe a little worse for gods, who have to watch their shinki's death upon their arrival.
no subject
It weighs. no matter what, it weighs.
"You think we can help with that?" After all, being dead to begin with makes it more complicated. And being a god adds an entirely different aspect of death.

After all, he picked up the prayer, he has to fulfill it now. He fidgets with his hands for a moment before nodding.
"He does want to move on, he said he needs some kind of sign. I'm sure his friend wouldn't want him stuck for so long either." Or at least, that's how he'd feel about it.
no subject
She notices the fidgeting. "You okay, boss?"
no subject
"Boss?"
no subject
"Thats what you are, right? I mean... I guess?"

"Come on, let's go help this guy out."

She follows behind him a step. She wonders what you can even say to somebody like that. "... You should knock."
Kido's not sure anyone would be able to hear her knocking. She hasn't gotten that visibility thing completely yet.

It's hard to be in mourning and when he eventually does answer the door... he doesn't notice the pair outside.
no subject
He very gently reaches out and touches the kid's hand.
"Hello."
no subject
"Who're you?" He's not a very polite person atm. But even Kido can give him a pass on that.
no subject
"You asked for a sign, right?" The only people who should know about his prayer are the people who picked it up, after all.
"I'm Aidos, and this is my partner." It's basically his work name, after all, and certainly more recognizable than his own.
no subject
"What're you talking about?" You don't expect physical people to answer your prayers, normally, after all.
no subject
"Your prayer."
no subject
"My pra--you heard that?" Deku you gotta explain a little bit more.

Kids just scowls into the neck of her pullover. "He's a god."

The kid just slouches and opens the door. You can't deny a god entry, right? But he still looks very down. "Yeah, I hear that a lot."

Izuku walks in, looking down at his right hand, scarred up from when he was trying to help Todoroki accept himself. That's a lot different than this.
"It's... been a month since his death, I'm sure your friend cares about you wherever he is now."
