Who: Lightning, Natsuru, and you
Where: Near Shore
When: May 11th
What: Prayer #15, so Natsuru in a cute outfit and Light just being Light
Warnings: None yet
[Sweetshop!]
[Lightning has finally decided that it was high time to do a prayer with her shinki. Natsuru is picked first since she’s the more skittish of the two, and it’ll be their gods first prayer as well. The prayer entailed helping a failing business get back into business. So, Lightning took it. Too bad the place seemed to be exactly what she didn’t want to work. Lightning loves to eat, but how is she supposed to sell sweets?
At least she has the amusement of sticking her shinki in an outfit that would detract from her own uniform.
Come one, come all to this shop and harass these two young women. Or just buy stuff and help them get through this.]

...stomach, stop betraying her.]
Ahaha...I think so?
[Sorry Lightning, just. Ignore her noise.]

With a quick dip behind the case, she hands to other woman a plate with a beignet on it, the treat covered in a nice layer of powdered sugar.]
On the house.
[The owner might go out of business simply with how much Light can eat. Why not give a few things away.]
no subject
Not that she knew that Lightning was eating them out of house and home but...some things were better unknown.]
Thank you so much!
[She bows where she sits, and glances around the sweetshops. It seems pretty quiet so...]
Would you like to sit with me? Until you have to go back to work that is. Maybe I can think of a way to repay you.
no subject
What is it with people and bowing???]
....
[She doesn't have anything better to do, so she shrugs.]
Sure.
[It was better than just standing there and reading a magazine.]
no subject
And food.
She took a few moments to fuss with her coffee, making it so it was was the right ratio of sweet.]
Thanks. For the company, and the food. I'm Masaki by the way, Masaki Kurosaki. I'm a shinki.
no subject
Shinki. She could have guessed as much with the behavior.]
Lightning Farron. My god name is Osiris.
[Would Masaki act even more formally? Lightning is guessing more towards a yes.]
no subject
It's nice to meet you! Osiris...that's Egyptian, right? What would you like me to call you? Lightning?
no subject
[It actually is bothering her when people add -sama or -san to the end of her name.]
no subject
[Her chin went to rest on her hands, smiling up at her. It's kind of nice.]
It's a nice name. It suits you.
no subject
[Because seriously Osiris? Now that she knows his origin so story, she would rather not be him, even if it does suit her.]
no subject
[She chuckles, and shrugs. She hasn't met a god that wants to go what they're the avatar of. Not yet at least.]
And it sounds...
[She shakes her head.]
I'm not sure. Strong, but still connected? If that makes any sense.
no subject
Lightning can only destroy.
[She picked it for that reason. It's powerful and intimidating.]
no subject
[She's smiling. She knows it sounds weird. But then again, Masaki is, she supposes, a little weird herself.]
But if you think of it as a metaphor, it's more relateable than judging the dead or being...what was it, torn apart?
no subject
Judging the dead is what I did back home in a similar manner. It's just a job, no matter what my name is.
no subject
You did?
[Talk about getting into a related job...]
Do you mind if I ask about it?
no subject
It's common knowledge back home. I collected the souls of those who were ready to die so they could be reborn into a new world. It was my job to make sure they were at peace before the end of days. Just like with the dead here. Except the dead here are a lot more stubborn about moving on and being reborn. Back home the dead never begged to be brought back to life to finish things that were left undone. They accepted their death.
no subject
If she didn't have her duty to Dio, she might have. She did not know.]
I'm not sure why it's harder here then it was for you, back home. Or what it says about either world.
[Masaki takes a bite out of her pastry, and sighs happily. She needed that.]
Oh, wait. You collected those that were ready to die right? Maybe that's why.
no subject
The ones who are ready are easier to pass judgment on. They don't fight the verdict. The ones who fight it tend to stick with the 'But I'm good! Let me go back and prove it!' excuse. Then there's those who genuinely thought they were evil, and were so set in their ways and convictions they have the purest of hearts and are granted rebirth. All the other ones I just threaten and that usually makes them shut up.
no subject
Still, Masaki had to giggle, smothering it behind her hand.]
You threatened them? With what?
no subject
[Sword. Gunblade. Magic. That sort of thing. Though a heavy goblet makes a good throwing weapon, too.]
no subject
[She giggled harder. This god...]
Did it work?
no subject
[Hey. She commands attention. And is very intimidating.]
no subject
Wow, wow. You're amazing!
no subject
At least Misaki is getting some amusement from this.]
Just doing my job.
no subject
And very effectively too! I don't think I could do what you did. It sounds...like a hard thing to do. Exciting, and rewarding but...hard.
