"...indeed there were mentions of deities being patrons of more unsavory aspects of life..." He only skimmed through the mythologies though.

Wait, why should he even answer the questions of this guy? He shuts his mouth, and refuses to continue.
"You're from a different pantheon! You have nothing to do with my god."

He shakes the thought from his head and steps right into Genos's personal space. "Which one of them came first, the Greek or the Roman god? Tell me, I have to know."
Then he scoffs at Genos's protest, flipping his bangs out of his face with a flick of his wrist. "My rivalry with Saitama has nothing to do with pantheons and has existed since before either of obtained godhood. I'm not going to just drop it because we "have nothing to do with each other," or anything like that."

With that, he turns away and storms over to a shelf full of accessories, such as stockings and arm warmers. "Anyway, it's hard to focus on delivering messages when there's nothing for me to deliver. I checked the mailbox this morning when I left. And besides, thievery is one of the professions I'm the patron of. I should think a little shoplifting fits well within my expected paradigm."

"I can't know that, shinki, remember?" Not having memories, means he can't even answer accusations like that. But yes, while he might not remember anything about then, he knows that right now he cares little about recognition. He just wants to fulfill his duty well, and if anyone is going to recognize that, it will be his god.
"It was Hermes that was first. From what I understood, Roman pantheon is heavily based on Greek one."

A little bit of the tension leaves his shoulders when Genos answers his question, something not unlike relief flooding his system. If someone did show up who would try to take his place, at least he was here first. It's a cold comfort, but he was here first. That, at least, cannot be taken from him.
"Thank you."

"Greek mythology is well documented, and widely present in pop-culture. It shouldn't take long to find some solid information about it. Nearly any library will have something about it." Inheriting library of previous Radegast has it's perks, at least he didn't need to run frantically searching for any scrap of info in unfamiliar place.
Akhem. That "his world" comment makes him curious. He wants to ask "did you knew me?", because everything points to that. Or maybe he does carry something truly unique to their world, that is unmistakable for someone else from it? If so, then what is it. Can he use it to identify others like him? Can he use it to learn more about himself?
All those questions, and he can't even force himself to ask out loud any of them. With a frustrated "tch" sound he just runs fingers through his hair.

"Hm, I'll make it a priority to look into when I feel sufficiently settled. This week is turning out to be surprisingly busy."
He watches Genos's face as he thinks, his lips quirked up into a small smirk. It's not hard to guess the direction of Genos's thoughts, especially when he looks so conflicted. It's just a subtle furrowing of Genos's brow, a slight downturn of his lips, but the desire to question is clear.
"We're not well acquainted," he offers helpfully, turning back to the clothing. "It's better to say I know of you, and we've... sparred briefly."
He glances at Genos. "Much like the behavior you've demonstrated at the sakura viewing, you were quite determined to keep me from Saitama. I could not tell you anything more."

Maybe he'll one day overcome that, but that won't be today. He just nods, mutters a thanks, and turns around to disengage before he learns of more things he's not supposed to know.
