The sun has barely started to filter through the house's wide windows when Speed of Sound Sonic slinks into Ekko's room. He's always been an early riser, and becoming a god with a large, cushy bed isn't going to change it.

It is, however, something his shinki may need to get used to.

"Get up," he says, nudging Ekko's shoulder with one hand. "It's time for training."

It's about mid-morning when Sonic sets out to a Near Shore Mall to remedy one of their most glaring problems; neither he nor Ekko have much by the way of clothes. Sure, the kimono is nice, but it's not something he'd wear every day. His ninja suit is DEFINITELY not something he'd like to wear every day, considering just how skin tight it is. It's good for show, but not for lounging around the house after a day of hard training. It's barely even good for training in, if he's being honest with himself. And Sonic's the lucky one with two outfits, Ekko only has the one.

Besides, they need swimsuits if they're going to be crashing the pool party tomorrow.

They make a quick trip to a department store for necessities like jeans and underwear, then Sonic gets a little carried away at the athletics store, resulting in a quick trip back to the temple dump off an excess of running clothes, weights, and any other piece of equipment Sonic felt he could carry out. He'd be embarrassed about the amount of shoes he took with him, but he knows he's going to wear each pair out completely within a day or two, so he might as well grab as many as he could to minimize the amount of trips.

Finally, they hit the store Sonic's been waiting for.
