Prayer #53 with Hitsugaya and Alibaba (Sept 18th 2016)

[Yoon has found Hitsugaya's temple because of course he's going to show up on foot and in person to ask his question.]

I would like to take you up on your offer to go on a prayer and gain the experience, but I would also like to do it as your shinki. I think I will be of the most use to all three of your temples - Aymeric's, yours, and especially Yona's. But I need to catch up, and this seems like the best way to me in light of everything, if you don't mind? I know noras aren't typically well thought of...

But this is what I've decided.

[...He's rather impressed you've managed to get to his temple considering how much of a journey it could be. But he does raise an eyebrow at him at hearing the answer.]

I don't mind, Yoon. [And considering how he sort of has a nora'd shinki of his own... He looks over back at Alibaba.] What do you say then? It'd be good to get you two more exposure to prayers this way.

[ Alibaba blinks at the other shinki when he strides up and just... announces that out of nowhere. Even if Hitsugaya isn't taken by surprise by this, he certainly is. When Hitsugaya fixes him with a look, he shifts uncomfortably for a moment before casting them both a crooked grin, giving a low laugh. ]

I don't mind. The more the merrier, right? You've got more experience at this whole... spell stuff anyway.

[Yoon spent a long time coming to that decision. As a result, he can be very forthright in what he wants. On the other hand, he thought of anyone, Hitsugaya would be the one to turn him down since they didn't know each other well - and even less so, him and Alibaba.

So he's at least as surprised as Ali is stunned.]

Y-yeah well spells, of course. Because a genius who can read well can figure out spells.

[Lies and boasting. He's struggled so much.]

I still don't think we can control what our vessel forms are but... please go ahead.

[He's as ready as he's going to be for Hitsugaya to name him.]

[Alibaba, he can feel a twinge of the discomfort and figures he'll need to talk to his shinki later afterwards after this. But he looks back at Yoon, eyebrow raised because he did catch that brief stutter, too.

What have you been telling his shinki, Yoon?

And depending on the kind of prayer they'll end up taking, it wouldn't hurt to try. Holding back a sigh, he begins:]

Spirit, you are lost and adrift. You have nowhere to go and nowhere to return to. Thus, I grant you a place to belong.

Prayer #43 with Keith (Sept 17th 2016)

[Today's the day! Yoon's asked Keith to fly him around after they buy some supplies in the Near Shore and Yoon makes lunch. Yoon figures they can't fly around the Near Shore without getting noticed, but the Far Shore surely will be okay. So, priorities - lunch first.

That's when they overhear a young woman speaking aloud to a friend: ]

I'm going away for a few days and I don't know if these poor stray cats will get fed while I'm gone. I'd feel better knowing someone was watching over them...

[Yoon stops, looking over at Keith to see if he heard it too.]

[It's hard for him to not be vigilant while out on the Near Shore, still unnamed and therefore with limited options to defend himself should things go sour. The conversation between the two is well within earshot, and it's the sort of thing that he can't just ignore.

Though, were he on his own, he'd be a little more likely to remember the comment and investigate on his own time rather than confronting anyone directly about it. He catches Yoon slowing to a stop, and shoots a mildly questioning look from the woman to him.

'Is this about them?']

[Not getting fed. That's what caught his attention, even though it's just some animals. He knows there's a difference between a kept pet that expects to be fed by their caretaker and a wild animal that's used to hunting for itself.

Even with the groceries in his hands, he walks over to her.]

Ma'am? Excuse me- Hey, ma'am?

[It takes a bit before she notices him, but finally she turns - and is clearly surprised to see him.] 'Oh! Hello there, young man...?'

Why are you taking care of stray cats? Can't they catch mice or birds on their own?

[She gives him a sympathetic smile and reaches down to grab one of the strays, carrying it like a baby and offering the forepaws towards Yoon. He's not much of a pet person, so he's not sure what she's doing. He just stays very still.]

'Do you see their paws?'

[Yoon looks, but doesn't see anything out of the ordinary. His confusion seems clear to her.]

'They used to be housecats. I'm sure some of them are just lost, but others probably got sent away. Many of them don't have their front claws anymore.'

[That gets understanding on Yoon's face. So they can't hunt as well as they could otherwise.]

[Keith seems to catch on to what she's implying a little more quickly, they certainly don't look much like feral cats, and if she's mentioning their feet in particular, then there's really no hope for them to be left on their own... But, he lets the woman finish explaining the situation before attempting to step in himself.]

So, they're just around this area, right?

[He can't help but feel sympathetic - unequipped to survive on their own and left out like this... they're only cats, but it's still pretty unfair to them. It's not like they asked to be put in this situation.]

'... Well, yes. Are you offering?'

[Yoon nods his head 'yes'.]

It's not going to be a problem. I'll be able to find this area again so that they know to come back to the same location that they expect to find food.

[As little disruption to their feeding habits as possible, that was his goal.]

Lunch with Goten (Sept 15th 206)

[Yoon is ready and waiting at the front of Yona's temple, at the top of the huge set of stairs, for when Goten will arrive. He at least has learned that Goten can fly, strange as that is to him, and has prepared the ingredients for strawberry daifuku... as a dessert. He said he'd feed Goten lunch, so he's not just going to get sweets. Not on Yoon's watch.

But more importantly, he wants to ask Goten in person about becoming one of Aymeric's shinki.]

206 was a great year

[Goten has never used the stairs to Yona's temple and he's not about to start now. He zooms towards the large temple, keeping high in the sky until he sees it just below. Perking at the fimilar figure waiting outside he swoops down.]

Yoon! Hey!

[Waving with excitement, Goten comes to a quick stop just over Yoon's head before dropping to the ground as if gravity was now existed again.]

I'm here. I told ya I wouldn't make you wait long!

and so was 2016 so hush you

[He puts his hands on his hips and nods.]

Aa. That you did.

[He smiles then and waves Goten on inside the temple.]

Did you come straight from Aymeric's temple, or somewhere else?

I was at Izumo's bar first and then went to Aymeric's so yeah! The temple is great but it's sorta boring if Maddragonra doesn't wanna play or Aymeric isn't there. So I like to go out and play a lot with Izumo and Shizuo or Hitsu...Nanako too!

[He smiles, quickly trailing along behind Yoon]

What about you? You're staying here right?

[Ah look an opening.]

Actually you're right, Yona's letting me stay here while I figure some things out.

[He keeps walking until they get to the kitchen.]

I've been thinking a lot about which god I should ask to name me. Did you know that three gods all offered that to me? I was so surprised.

[And touched, really, but he's trying to keep the focus on the number.]

[Yoon walks up to Aymeric's temple because of course he does, he doesn't need anyone teleporting him there just because it's faster. He's still helping with the map after all. He arrives and looks around to make sure that he's not disturbing Mandragora because if she's anywhere near the main entrance, he'll try to find another way in or contact Aymeric or Goten. No way is he pissing off the demon cat - not today, anyway. Important matters are on the horizon.]

[Thankfully for Yoon, the demonic furball is nowhere in sight. However, Sukomi the soulless shinki is out front and she spots the boy close by. She waves to him and cocks her head to the side, silently asking if he was there for a reason.]

I'm here to see Aymeric.

[He waits.]

[Uhhhh how else is he supposed to explain to her...]

Do you know where he is right now? Can you take me to him?

[She may not be able to speak but Sukomi understands his words. She nods and ushers him inside, leading him past the living room (where Mandragora is seen but sleeping on his back in a sunbeam) and down a hallway to a set of ornate wooden double doors. Then, Sukomi knocks twice and peeks inside for a moment before opening the door fully, letting Yoon come inside. There he will see Aymeric sitting at the desk with some paperwork in one hand and a quill in another. The office itself looks like there has been a good deal of use but still clean enough not to be called a mess. There's maps of various places such as the Far Shore and of various places outside of it including Heligoland and other places in Europe and his laptop is close by, being closed for the time being. He looks up and sees Sukomi and Yoon there and puts down the items and greets them warmly.]

Ah, welcome Yoon! Forgive the slight mess [Not really a mess] If I had known to expect you, I would have been waiting in the living room.

[And to Sukomi]

My thanks for showing him in. [To which she nods and bows to both before leaving, closing the door behind her.] To what do I owe the pleasure?

[Yoon blanches at 'mess'. It's almost as bad as Ran was at making a 'mess' which was actually more like 'not lived in' whereas Aymeric's is clearly 'lived in but well-maintained.' Since Aymeric asked, he jumps straight to the chase.]

Goten and I talked before. He apparently thinks I could be a big brother to him if you took me on. And Yona and Hitsugaya have named me.

[Aymeric will be able to see one symbol that Yoon gestures to on the left front of his neck at 'Yona', then he pulls up his shirt sleeve on the right side at 'Hitsugaya'. Yona's is 母 (Ba), Mother. while Hitsugaya's is 癒 (Yu), to heal or cure.]

So all that's left is for us to talk now that you've had some time after waking up.

[Which is a weird thing that he wishes Goten hadn't had to go through, but not something he could change either.

And he very much sees it as a discussion and negotiation process, rather than something he needs to have done or that Aymeric had already agreed to. They'd talked a lot. That didn't matter. Only a final action did.]

Naming, September 20th

[ The loss of Izumo is going far deeper than the mere silence of the connection she'd held with him since Naming him. They'd been friends long before she'd given him a Name to claim his as her shinki and Yona was mourning both, although doing her best to keep her spirits up.

At the moment, she's out in the orchards, tending to the herd of horses who press around her, as if sensing her mood, begging for treats and pets as she seeks solace among them for the time being. She knows Shizuo is still somewhere nearby in the temple but otherwise assumes the place is quiet and empty for now. ]

Re: Naming, September 20th

[Yoon finishes the running around that he'd done in preparation for the party. He'd told Yona that much on the BBS. Now, though... he's put all of those purchases away and come to find her.

He stands behind her with his hands flat at his side, a mix of nerves and respect for her sadness.]

I'm here to fulfill my promise.

[ It's the nervous shifting of the mare she'd been tending that alerts her that she's no longer alone, and she glances up to see Yoon approaching. It's not hard to miss the fact that he seems nervous, far more familiar with his moods than he might be aware of. But at his serious words, she pats the mare farewell and turns to give him her full attention, her expression equally serious.

Tipping her head, she regards him in curiosity. ]

Which promise, Yoon?

That... [His hands twitch but he resists balling them into fists.]

That if you ever lost Izumo, I wanted you to name me - so that you might not be without a weapon.

[By now, he's already been named by Hitsugaya, so he's not 100% convinced that he even CAN turn into a weapon for her.]

And if not a weapon, then maybe something easier to Rend with than Shizuo's vessel form.

[ That has her stepping away from the mare, giving her a gentle nudge to send her back to the rest of the herd. Coming to stand in front of of Yoon, she reaches out to take his hand, dipping her head so she can catch and hold his gaze, giving him a gentle smile. ]

Is that what you'd like?
