[One of the first thing Lance does, after settling in at Minerva’s temple, is explore the place. He’s sure he’s allowed to - Hifumi won’t mind! And what’s a better way to learn the ropes than to be out there? He wanders through every district, often wearing the distinct armor he woke up with. Sure, he doesn’t know the significance of it, but...it might be a good idea to be protected?

(He has the assumption monsters are common. He might be disappointed, eventually.)

It comes in handy, though, when it comes to exploring the abandoned temples. He clambers up the ruins like a particularly spritely goat, and doesn’t seem to be bothered by all the vines and debris. In fact, if someone runs across him when he’s exploring an old, abandoned temple, they might even hear him laughing like a kid in a candy store.

Otherwise, he’ll just grin and wink at anyone he passes by. Maybe he’ll even throw in a finger gun, if you’re lucky.]

[Guess who’s in Die Jagd? It’s this guy, and he doesn’t look anywhere near impressed with the surroundings.]

That’s definitely fake. You see this, right? [He says to you, fellow patron.] That looks so cheap - there’s no way that’s real!

But, that gets a curious look from Lance. He's been here long enough to gather a few basics - gods are paired with shinki, and together they fight bad things for the pretty obvious reasons. And he could ask Hifumi what it's like - is pretty sure she wouldn't mind - but...]

Must be nice, being a god. All the devout worshipers and praise and yadda yadda. [He waves a hand.]

[ He... won't deny that some people might enjoy that. ]

I'm just happy to be able to help people when they need it. That's all.

[Huh. Lance raises an eyebrow, looking amused.]

So what's the catch? There's gotta be a catch. You can't be super hot and super nice.

I'm a terrible cook. And, honestly, when it comes to more... personal aspects of my life, I'm not exactly the most... competent.

You'll have to wait until we're a little closer before I reveal darker things to you.

[Lance snorts, not believing there's anything dark he could learn about this guy. He's just way too good.]

[Meanwhile, he's an open book.]

Hah, I'm sure you are.

[ This is totally okay! Totally fine. ]

Let's just hope we don't meet in temple ruins every time. There are better places. [ A pause, and he smiles slightly. ] If you like cats, my temple has a ton of them.

Of course I am! It's not an opportunity you get every day!

[Of course it's fine! Why would it not be fine?]

Not a fan of the ambiance? [It's soooooo romantic. But at the mention of cats, he perks up.] I'm pretty fond of cats. They're not bad.

I'm not so fond of the opportunities for injury here, actually.

[ He nods. ]

Well, you're welcome at my temple any time, in that case. They love attention.

My temple--Serapis temple--is in the western district. You can't exactly miss it. It looks like a large, white castle ship.

[ROLLS EYES.]

Nobody's getting hurt here ever.

[He blinks.]

Castle...ship? We talking space ship or water ship?

[ Don't be rude!!! ]

Alright. But don't be upset when I tell you I told you so. [ But he's teasing!! ] Space ship.

[He was BORN RUDE.]

I won't be, because you're never gonna say it. [Hmph!] Does it actually fly?

We'll see about that.

[ He chuckles. ]

It can't, no. Not here. The ship it's modeled after can, though.

Yeah, we will.

[He's stubborn enough to want to win.]

So...You remember your life before all this, right? [A beat.] Have you been to space?

[galrarm]

Yeah. I spent a pretty long time up there, actually.

[thegoofball]

You did?! [He lights up - space is amazing! There's so much up there, and he's immediately excited to have met someone who's been.] What was it like?

[galrarm]

Amazing.

[ Which is definitely true. He's never gotten tired of being up there. ]

But at the same time, it's dangerous. There are a lot of threats up there. Still... I wouldn't have traded it for anything.

[thegoofball]

[Lance's face softens, and he wants to ask more questions. He knows he shouldn't, but...]

Do you miss it?

[galrarm]

[ Ah... ]

Sometimes I do. After spending years up there, I think anyone would.

But I'm content here. So it works out.

[This is one of those conversations that will be hilarious in retrospect.

Or, you know, completely soul crushing.]

Content's boring though. What about action? Adventure? All of that?
