The Far Shore has been dealing with a lot of space-time pulsating through the past week or so and everything is culminating on the night of the 15th, even though the Heavens are preparing for an all-out Obon bash. They had planned to have the celebration on the 15th itself, but Amaterasu asked to postpone a day due to the horrible feeling that is permeating the Far Shore.

And it turns out she was right to postpone everything. In fact, it will have to be postponed another whole month at this rate...



Before

Late in the day on July 15th, the new batch of shinki will arrive to a Far Shore with a thick, tense atmosphere. All night on the 15th it feels like something is about to happen - and it's difficult to tell whether that something will be good or bad. Any attempts to contact the management of the Far Shore have fallen on deaf, slightly harried ears and so everyone is left to their own devices to try and figure out why things are so tense.

July 16

Just after midnight, an explosive shock wave rips through the Far Shore, bringing on the age changes with it. Even the spirits of the Far Shore seem to be affected - for example, the library goblins are either toddling around on wobbly legs or are dragging themselves from place to place and looking decrepit. There are a few gods and shinki that seem to have been exceptions from the change, though it is not clear why.

July 17

Another wave of energy comes in the early morning of the 17th. Fewer people are affected this time and it seems to alter those people's ages a second time. There is no rhyme or reason to who is being affected further. Several of the library goblins have just dropped dead from severe old age. Oops.

Aftermath

Late on the 17th brings about one final burst from the energy that has been plaguing the Far Shore. For a short moment, every new temple glows with a soft light, seeming to beckon to their owners. But the light is gone quickly and everyone will find themselves back to normal with complete memories of everything that happened during their age adventures. The goblins that died, though, are still very dead. Looks like the library will need to get some new help soon.

[ This is so weird. Hibiki hurries to catch up. Maybe he thinks it's this way, by accident...? ] It's the other way.

I'm not going to your tea party.

[kurukuruchan]

Then where are you going?

[ It can't be better than the tea party. Unless.

Unless he knows some secret BETTER THAN TEA PARTIES PLACE. Hibiki has to see that, if so. ]

[ Oh she is absolutely following him. ]

[That gets him to stop and turn around.]

Then you'll come to the party?

[ This is seriously how she thinks the logic goes. ]

[He's so glad he's never met you as an adult.]

[ He should be. ]

Well, you'd be having fun, then.

[ And she does want you to have fun. The world is such a fun place. Anybody who's not having fun is missing out, and should probably be shown some fun. ]

[ She brightens even further, laughing aloud at that. ] Haha!

[ Here is an attempt to take his hand. They are, after all, going the wrong way. ] Then, let's head back!

[His shoulders slump, allowing her to take his hand.

He might as well get this over with.]

[ She guarantees it.

[He mumbles under his breath even as he lets her lead him to wherever the tea party is.]

[ The tea party iiiiissss----

----IN A BIG FANCY CASTLE!! Which Hibiki struts up to like she owns the place. Because she does. She thinks. She woke up here, so it's hers now. ]

Get ready. It's super pretty in here.

[ She just has to open this big heavy door!! Which she will try, all by herself... ]

[...Why is there a castle here?

WHY IS IT HUGE.

Lavi stares at it, amazed, before he notices what she's doing. He's very tempted to leave her to her own things, but feels his shoulders slump again.

Lavi walks up to her and goes to help her open the door.]

[kurukuruchan]

[ He's come around to the tea party idea so much that he's helping! Cool!

Hibiki grins. ] Thanks! Tug on three. One, two!

Threeeee----

[ Let's get this door open and reveal

a really really overdone fancy interior. ]

[He tugs on the count of three, but then stops once he really takes a good look at it.

What in the name of the Heavens.]

Yeah! Isn't it nice? It's almost as big as back home.

[ ....hibiki?

[ That answers everything. She steps inside. ]

He wonders if he should argue, but decides not to. It's not important, anyway, so he steps inside, too.]

The inside is that, up to eleven. Hibiki doesn't seem to mind, or even really be awed. She heads down the main hall, practically skipping (and tracking a little bit of mud, but who cares, not her problem). ] This way, this way!
