The flame inside the breathing ashes

[A. August 17th - Afternoon]

[After his fight with Lux and talk with Allen, anyone who would have tried to reach Lavi will discover radio silence on his end. He left a note to Cardia explaining he’d be out all day. He wasn’t in the mood to talk to anyone right now, not after the parting words Lux had left him with.

Avoiding everyone seemed to be the best option right now, even if he would argue instead that he was just grabbing some fresh air.

It’s why he’s chosen to walk his temple’s latest addition around the Far Shore instead.

”Someone like you should have never been given a name to begin with!”

His jaw clenches at the memory of it, but it was a mistake to take his eye off the dog since Sisi runs off and Lavi’s quick to run after it.]

Sisi, wait!

[B. I Lost You Again]

[Sometime, at some point during the month, people might find Lavi sitting at an area where Allen’s temple used to be. He has a knee drawn up to his chest, a hand covering his face as if he’s trying hard to ignore the sudden pang of loneliness that hits him. Fortunately, Sisi seems to be his company today, too, sitting beside Lavi and has his head rested on Lavi’s other leg.

The redhead gently gives him a scratch, though he looks distracted.]

Damn it, Allen.

[Sisi whimpers a bit as Lavi retracts his hand to mess with a pair of white gloves that he found - the same kind of gloves he’s seen Allen wear before.

He grits his teeth, the other hand moving away from his face and he slams a fist onto the ground.]

Damn it.

[C. He’s an Exorcist Once More]

[Somewhere in a clearing, there’s Lavi holding what appears to be a hammer that might look a little too heavy all things considering.

He has his eye closed, the head of the hammer pointed upwards as giant seals appear around him, glowing brightly. Gritting his teeth, his eye opens as one of the seals stops and glows a bright red.]

Hi Ban: Gouka Kaijin!

[Slamming the hammer down with the seal stamped onto it, a torrent of flames erupt, taking on the form of a snake that surrounds Lavi briefly before shooting upwards into the sky and disappearing in bits of ashes.]

[ Zero finds himself staring at a small dog that seemed to be stringing its owner around from the call he heard not too far away. Zero stares down at the dog, surprised that it isn't frightened of him. ]

You better get back.

[ He tells the canine. ]

You don't want to make them worry.

[Shun has managed to not encounter Lavi in one of his worse positions - having never known about Allen being his other god, the only significance the missing temple had to him was merely another number to add to the disappearances. It's difficult to miss the seals even through trees, though, and Shun heads over to investigate as soon as he catches sight of them.

He turns up just about in time to recognise Lavi's voice reciting the spell and raise an arm against the light of the sudden flames, though he doesn't seem bothered by their presence otherwise. As the snake curls around and shoots up into the sky, Shun drops his arm and lets out a quiet sigh.]

One of these days I'm going to write a list of all the fire users here.

[what is it with him and fire? He's not too sure. But every time he senses fire, he wants to get close and learn more about it. And as he gets close, he sees a giant fire snake, his eyes get nice and wide.]

Whoa...

[he wants to learn how to do that!]

[If Lavi is aware of his surroundings at all, he may hear Hajime's faint foot steps as she approaches him from behind. Tucking a lock of hair behind her ear she comes to a stop a few feet from him, head tilted to the side curiously.

Lavi isn't her shinki but its easy to tell something is wrong. She didn't need to see his thread for that. Though, it'd be lie to say she hadn't been periodically checking on it since he disappeared and was found by the underworld.

The place he's sitting in front of doesn't ring any bells but judging how the land looks freshly dug up it's not hard to guess what happened. It's not Lavi's temple, she knows where that is now, but maybe a good friends?

All the same, she stands there quietly. Observing the shinki with her hands clasp behind her back]

[ There's probably some specific kind of humor that applied to someone practicing exorcismal techniques attracting the attention of a demon. It was one of the first days that Hannah dared to leave the temple of Ma'at after he had finally loosened the leash.

Yet she doesn't come onto the scene until after the snake had disappeared and the ashes were falling from the sky. Her hand is out as if to catch a flake of it, looking up to where it burnt out. The apron that she had worn that first day was gone, though she stayed in that same dark blue dress. ]

That's quite a thing you've managed to do. Are you in better health?

[After his talk with Lady Orihime, Lavi had immediately sought out the first person he knew who could help him out with the latest mission: to gather at least five materials or ingredients used as real world acid-proofing.

It’s why he sends a text to Izuku:]

If you aren’t busy, can we meet? I need your help with something.

Ah --

[A small dog with a top hat and metal leg stops in front of Hakkai, cocking its head to one side with fluffy ears perked. The aggrieved owner's shout from nearby is enough to make him chuckle.]

Hello, Sisi.

[He'd recognized that voice. He turns as Lavi arrives, hot on the dog's heels, and offers him a slight, polite bow.]

And good afternoon, Lavi. It's good to see you so full of energy.

[And suddenly, there's a dog circling his feet and trying its best to trip him. But not just any dog, an amazing dog that could easily fit in with ...well, not his cards, but definitely Aichi's cards. Ren hurriedly does his best not to trip, and then squats down to greet the dog properly with some well-placed ear scratches.]

Hello there! Where did you come from? I bet you aren't supposed to be running around alone.

[ And here she'd been innocently bringing back a bag of nikuman from a convenience store when she notices a small animal -- with a golden paw, yet -- bounding toward her and possibly her treasured meatbuns.

Oh dear.

He's cute... but a whole meatbun is probably too much for a single pupper. ]

I'm sorry... this is meant to be dinner.

Lavi-san?

[Ayumu's approach is slow and careful, both her tone and her touch infinitely gentle as she rests her hand briefly on his shoulder. She looks down at his hand in concern, studying it for injuries just in case. She doesn't know him too well yet but she's liked what she's seen of him so far, enough to cut her walk short to tend to him.]

Is everything all right?

[There's something almost maternal about her demeanor.]

[ After the whole ordeal with Ken and Chikusa, Butch has been trying to find some information that could be helpful in the library, but he's figured that he'll probably have to go to the Near Shore for it.

It's on his way from a quick stop at this library that they have here though, that he spots a slightly familiar red-head and a dog. The boy seems upset, to say the least. ]

You alright, lad?

Woah...

[ That..sure is something. Was Lavi always able to do something like that? It's really cool. D2 pauses to watch, his hard-plastic folder filled with hand-drawn maps of the Far Shore in one hand and a pen in the other, hanging by his side. ]

Awesome...

[After the text with Hajime, Lavi wasted no time in going to her temple.

If he thought that Allen and Lux leaving were bad enough, it was even worse now that Yuto is gone. The lost shinki's necklace seemed heavier in his pocket now, a reminder that the person he has grown to actually love is gone.

And his heart broke with him.

As promised, he waits in front of Hajime's temple, sitting by the front door and he looks as if he hasn't slept at all, the weight of knowing someone else precious to him gone pressing down on him.]

[After spending the night at Hajime's place, Lavi doesn't waste any time to head back to Cardia's temple. It took some time since it's not exactly close to one another, but it was also enough to give him some time to think about what he would have to say.

Sighing, he runs a hand through his hair before he enters the temple, almost cautiously.]

...Cardia?
