what's happening here (mostly open)
Who: Hazel and Keito, Hazel and Pals (you)
What: pal stuff, yahoo answers
When: April 29 and/or later, I'm not picky
Where: around....
Warnings: well, the links contain questionably nsfw text, and the Jae-Ha thread contains definitely nsfw text, oops
APRIL 29.... hello Keito
[It's real nice of that Keito kid to have made all of these worksheets for Japanese study, really. Hazel was surprised the other day, when Jae-Ha suddenly delivered them to him with his usual Jae-Ha flourishing, but he's kind of touched by it too... Hooter Kid isn't so bad.
The problem with having a magical spoken understanding of a language but only a very basic written understanding of it is this: he still can't read some of this. How does he do practice worksheets if he can't read them??
He decides he might as well call Keito, because why not call someone he's only ever spoken to on the internet. That's fine. Ring ring, nerd.]

[So, as a (false) god with a domain of great things like love and youth and poetic inspiration, the prayers Hazel gets custom-tailored to himself sure are... as interesting as one would expect. Since he's been thinking for a few days now about what he should actually do as a (totally fake) god, taking into account his misgivings about the whole thing but still wanting to help normal people— well, he's decided to check Aengus' shrine every so often to see what he can do.
For the people. The people who really, desperately need help with love and youth, at least... The prayers manifest as plaques and handwritten tags hung on the shrine, so that anyone walking by can see exactly what he's dealing with, generally speaking.
Is this worth it... he doesn't even get paid, technically... He gingerly picks one up by its corner, not actually daring to pull it off the shrine in case that means he has to commit to it or something.]
Just one...? Mercy, I don't know what I did to deserve this.
[please..... this is harassment] The poor souls sure are in need...

He shouldn't, since it's just a knock on the wall, but he's wide awake now and he clutches his chest as he pushes himself to sit up and stare towards the wall.]
Hazel...? [He wasn't just hearing things, right? Was Hazel doing something in there?]
no subject
Hazel is shaken, but not too shaken to knock again, more insistently. Come here, you immense dweeb.]
no subject
This time, he rushes over, not bothering with any of the lights as he reaches for Hazel's arm, instead.]
What happened?
no subject
Couldn't sleep. [A big surprise.] I'm a lil— rattled.
no subject
At first, he just frowns at Hazel's words. Rattled, about things he can't solve, probably, so what can he do? He does the only thing he knows that he can, moving to sit next to him on the bed and reaching to pull him closer to his chest. Come here.]
About what happened earlier?
no subject
Among other things. Y'know that wasn't my first go 'round with a monster. I've been... Well, it brought some old things back up.
[He's getting there... slowly. Hug him more.] I need ya to stay here for a bit.
no subject
As Hazel wraps his arms around him, Jae-Ha puts his arms comfortingly around him in return. One cups gently at the back of his head as the other settles at his back. Quietly, Jae-Ha waits until Hazel finishes speaking to say anything himself.]
I'll stay here for as long as you need me. [That's not even an issue, so they can brush that aside for now. As for what it brought up... He wants to know, of course, but pestering a guy who's clearly dealing with trauma or something similar is not a good idea, he thinks. He can wait for him to come to it slowly.
For now, he'll be quiet and hold him here as he's needed.] It's alright.
no subject
At least it's nice to hear "it's alright." Despite himself it makes him smile, if only for a moment.
So.] ...Monsters. I'm always gettin' chased and someone's always just been hurt— I'm rightly sick of it.
no subject
I'd say it's only fair to be sick of something like that. [That's a horrible scenario... He thinks about that sort of thing a lot, but he's not haunted by it, thankfully. So, what has Hazel dealt with that he is...?]
How did it start?
no subject
Or, hmm, is it time to share his sad backstory? He's quietly assured himself he would get around to it eventually, after everything else he's already told Jae-Ha, but it's still not an easy subject to talk about. He concentrates on those fingers in his hair, thinking.]
My parents were killed by monsters when I was real young. The priest at the church took me in and treated me like I was his own son... and sure enough, a monster got to him, too. [He wonders if he seems strange, sounding almost nostalgic while talking about this - but, well, this is the hand he was dealt. So.] There was nothin' I could do about it, and I don't remember much of the day, though I was there— I must've hit my head or somethin', tryin' to escape... but the monster never did catch me after he was killed.
Still, I haven't had a good night's sleep in ages, since then.
no subject
His other arm squeezes him even closer. He doesn't feel like saying anything like "I'm sorry to hear that" would help right now, so he hopes this motion speaks volumes in its place. It's no wonder Hazel had been so frozen dealing with that thing earlier.]
So that's why you're up so often. [Mm... He curls his fingers in his hair a little more as he leans his head closer.]
Is it why you killed monsters for a living?
no subject
Holding him close does help, regardless. Jae-Ha is here, solid and real, and that keeps Hazel's focus on this depressing stuff more... objective. Sort of. Enough.]
There was nothin' left for me there, like I've said. I knew a spell or two to take on monsters, so... [He shrugs; it seemed obvious at the time. And he was furious, but that's another story.] There were other places that needed the help.
no subject
He shifts and curls his fingers against Hazel's back.]
I won't let it happen again. [Hmm, that's a little more serious than he usually likes to let on. And a lot more promise than he usually gives out, when it's something uncertain like this, but— he wants to keep it. He'll work to keep it with everything. He pulls back just enough so that he can smile instead of having this serious face on in the dark. His hand slides out from Hazel's hair to rest at his shoulder, instead, squeezing comfortingly.]
All we need is a little practice and a few more techniques.
no subject
Alright. Practice and techniques. If ya say so, that's enough for me. [Will he sleep any better?? Debatable. He'll have to find out.] Sorry I woke ya like that.
[again... shh]
no subject
[He doesn't feel like he's helped at all, just sitting here and holding him like this. He hopes it did something, but until he's actually been productive towards this... He just feels like he hasn't done enough. All of this time, he was thinking he could rely on the strength in his right leg, but maybe he'll have to do a bit more than that, after all.
Giving Hazel a small smile anyway, he moves a little on the bed until he's lying down on his side, propping his head on his hand by the pillow as the other extends towards Hazel. This is fine.]
But now that I'm here, I'll have to see that you do get some sleep, after all. [Come here, this is fine so come here.]
no subject
Just like... this... what's he doing. Of course he's doing this.]
Am I gonna get any sleep like this? [Is this whiny or thirsty?? You be the judge. Either way, he's moving back to lie down. This dragon nerd just took over his bed...]
no subject
[Now he's just being silly. But really, maybe it can put him at ease enough to get some sleep tonight, after all. And if he has another nightmare in the same night, he'll be right there. It's a perfect plan, if he dares to say so himself!
As soon as Hazel lies down, Jae-Ha wraps an arm around him to pull him closer. He sure did take over this bed.]
Unless this actually bothers you?
no subject
Once, this bed was only Hazel's, and not invaded by lizards. He rolls his eyes, shifting to get comfortable when he's pulled close. This is fine... so far.]
I'll only be bothered if I don't get any sleep. Don't stay up all night admirin' my good looks.
no subject
So, instead, he will just keep his arm around Hazel like this and enjoy the comfort. Look, he doesn't even have boots in the bed, be proud.]
I'll try my best. I'll be silent, so try to get some rest. [He says this as he closes his eyes, but he'll probably be awake for a while longer thinking about this stuff and wanting to know if Hazel has fallen asleep at all...]
no subject
All these things you're doin' for me... [He trails off without completing that thought, since he's not sure what he wants to say about it yet. He'll have to think about what that means and what he should do about it, eventually.
Not in the middle of the night, though. He shifts again to loosely drape an arm over Jae-Ha, before he tries going back to sleep again. Eventually this will work...]
no subject
He's a special person. Jae-Ha idly shifts the hand that's near their faces, barely curling into the ends of Hazel's hair before resting there. It's funny, but this is a comfort of sorts to Jae-Ha, too. Hazel is solid, right here in his arms, warm and beside him. Neither of them are going anywhere. They're safe.
So, his eyes drift back closed and he'll fall asleep in a normal amount of time, since he's very tired after everything else.]
no subject
Hazel does get back to sleep, eventually, and without having another nightmare. He's appropriately exhausted from not sleeping, as usual, and the rest of the day, so it's fine. Unfortunately he doesn't have any shoujo dreams about being swept away in Jae-Ha's arms...
And waking up [spongebob title card] hours later isn't as shoujo as he'd imagined, anyway. Somehow he's squirmed closer, so that the side of his face is pressed against Jae-Ha's chest and there's green hair... everywhere... He blows a lock of it off his face before shifting back more into his own space, sleepily, to look at Jae-Ha.
Hmm, yes. That's a nice Jae-Ha. He lifts some of his bangs off his face, gently, not trying to wake him... just trying to look...]
no subject
After just a few seconds of Hazel's looking, Jae-Ha's eyes blink open slowly. Oh. It's Hazel, that's right.
Still a little groggy, he moves his hand to touch to Hazel's cheek. Hello.]
no subject
Mornin', sunshine. [He's still teasing, and yet this is still about 50 times gayer than the last time he said this.]
