A. I’m falling between the cracks

[After the event that affected the Heavens, Lavi has decided to take it upon himself to distance himself from a few people.

So, people would be able to find Lavi at a park, huddled under a tree. He doesn’t seem to be paying attention to anything in particular, but his usual headband is missing and there’s a silver bird clip currently attached to the collar of his shirt. His eye seems to be focused on a book laid out on his lap, lips moving as he reads what’s on the page.

However, the moment he senses someone coming up to him, the book is slammed shut and he eyes the person almost warily.]

B. The Library Goblins

[Thanks to the pulse or whatever it was, one of the first things Lavi’s done after returning to normal is to inspect the library.

Or rather, inspect the area around it.

He frowns a bit, cupping his chin in thought before he turns to the nearest person.]

Have you seen the goblins? [This is. A very important question since Lavi’s become aware of the goblins the moment they had decided to steal the books back.]

[Cardia is glad that things are back to normal, but a little worried that Lavi seems to be avoiding her. Does he remember what happened? She knows she isn't very good at dealing with kids. Perhaps she said something that bothered him.

She finally finds him reading in the park. She is curious about the book he seems so engrossed in, but he snaps it shut too quickly for her to see anything.]

Um....

[Not sure whether her presence is welcome right now, Cardia suddenly finds herself at a loss for words.]

Cardia.

[He relaxes a bit upon recognizing her, giving her a smile in greeting.

Though, it quickly shifts into an apologetic one since he has been kind of avoiding her recently and he feels bad for doing so without a proper explanation.

He pats the spot beside him.]

[ You only thought there was a person next to you in the library, Lavi. But when you turn around, there's no one.

Just a shining, intricately-engraved silver platter of sweets, piled in an artful arrangement. Plenty of treats featuring dark chocolate have been included, in addition to more colorful options. Instead of a card, there's a single purple rose, lying next to this display.

There is no motion disappearing into these stacks. You imagined it. This platter appeared by magic.

A magician did it. ]

[The platter of sweets surprises him.

He blinks once, crouching down to pick it up. He carefully picks up the purple rose, wonder evident on his face. There's really only one person he knows, or thinks he knows, who would've done this if his memories serve him correctly.

So, he looks around, trying to find her.]

[Lavi's not the only one who's avoiding conversations after his time as a younger man. Hakkai, for one, would rather not explain any of the questions he'd been asking, or why, as a younger man, he didn't need the silver limiters that are currently slotted into place on his earlobe in order to continue looking human.

He's just out for a walk, at least, until the young man on the nearby park bench slams his book shut with unnecessary force. Hakkai glances up from the ground, where he'd been looking as he thought, at him.]

... I'm sorry, am I disturbing you?

[The park should be big enough for both of them.]

No, sorry. I was just—[Paranoid?

He's not sure how he feels, but he thought it'd be better not to let anyone actually see what he was reading.

Lifting his gaze, Lavi just kind of stares.]

[Yuto can remember how he and Lavi were children, how they played some simple board game... It's a strange memory but it feels kind of nice to have it too. Still, as children they both acted so different than they normally do.

Yuto sighs and, feeling somewhat awkward, approaches Lavi. The other's reaction makes him frown.]

...Hey.

[Lavi also remembers it, as well as everything that's happened as a kid. It's one of the few happy ones he's made that actually made him feel like a kid he should've been at the age.

A flicker of surprise before he smiles.]

Hey. What brings you out here?

[If he had ended up avoiding Yuto, too, well that's just Lavi's confusion and embarrassment taking over.]

[He is very tired after everything that's happened and has finally started putting himself outside, looking around, double checking that his friends are the right age.

But he notes the snap and the look.]

Oh. Um... Should I go...?

[...Deku.

Lavi blinks a bit at him, quickly looking sheepish.]

No, you're good. [He rubs the back of his neck.] Sorry about that. I've been a bit on edge since turning back to my age again.

B - July 18th

[fuuthewind]

[Kaede is actually sweeping some of the steps and the entrance to the library when Lavi pops up with his question. She blinks, pulling the broom to herself.]

I don't believe that handled all the....things that happened the last few days too well.

[He's about to respond, to say something, when his attention is immediately caught by her.

A slow blink because he's been to the library numerous times and this is his first time meeting her.]

They did seem to handle those strange pulses poorly yesterday.

[Then:]

[And thats just some random shinki passing by Lavi. No one important.


However, there is some rustling going on in the tree above his head soon after. A flash of light from a teleport and then a bit of crashing as Hajime falls through the tree, hitting various branches before dropping out of it and on top of Lavi with a surprised shout]

[Chikusa is only here because the alternative is being at Axel's temple, with Ken, and he's.... not sure how he feel about that. It's a long shot, but maybe there's something at the library that will explain what happened yesterday.]

[He's prepared to ignore Lavi, but then he's being addressed, and Chikusa slowly glances back towards him.]

...No.... But I haven't tried to keep a book lately...

[There's a bit of a look.]

The goblins had been affected by whatever's been going, too. I recall a day where they just dropped dead from old age.

[ At the book slamming shut, Itachi's plain expression slowly lifted into a smile. ]

Good day, Lavi.

[lostinshadows]

Itachi.

[He immediately smiles back.]

[ Ao isn't coming up to him on purpose. He's trying to avoid walking into crowds and to get used to being blind after the two days when he had working eyes. He can't really remember anything before that so he's not sure how much he has to adjust.

He hears the sound of the book that closes, pretty much straight ahead. Was he about to walk into someone (again?) He can definitely feel a gaze burning into him. ]

What?

[There's a small jerk of surprise upon seeing the man.

His gaze loses its weariness as he takes in the way man seems to be staring straight ahead.]

You were about to run into a bench.

[He hopes Lavi didn't see him the past 3 days, he'd like to explain not a goddamn thing.]

[Fortunately, he has not seen him. Little redhead was actually having fun enjoying his false childhood.

Though, seeing Niles like this does earn his attention.]

Prayer #43: Hajime, Yuto, and Lavi

[It's not often Lavi would get dragged reached out by other gods to join along a prayer with them. The last time he's done so, it was with Allen and at the moment, he's still not sure how to actually proceed going on a prayer with Hajime and Yuto, of all people.

So, after being surprised by Hajime suddenly appearing with Yuto in tow, the redhead can only feel awkward and stand a bit to the side, rubbing the back of his head.]

So...what do we have to do?

Lavi, Lavi~! [She waves to him, sticking close to Yuto as she smiles. She doesn't miss that confused awkward look because this was a bit out of the blue but there's no way she wants to do this prayer without both of them. She would default to taking Yuto and Davesprite on this but with the two boys just could not see eye to eye. Maybe it was better to ask for a friend to come along. She already knew Yuto and Lavi got along pretty well.]

We're helping someone out! They're gonna be gone for awhile but they don't want the strays they care to go hungry.

[ There's a brief blank stare from the water seraph as he spoke to the other. He wasn't expecting to run into Lavi at that moment but it made sense since it was the library and Mikleo himself did spend a lot of time wandering around here and reading as many books as he could on various topics.

It made sense to find another fellow book worm in the same area. ]
